Saint Louis University in Baguio publishes its full programme list on one page, grouped into four undergraduate schools, two professional schools and a graduate school. The four undergraduate schools are known on campus by their acronyms, and you will see those acronyms everywhere in the application process, so it pays to learn which one owns your course before you apply.
This post reproduces what SLU itself publishes, school by school, and then covers the part that decides most applications: SLU runs a single university-wide entrance exam and admits by course-level slots, which means passing the exam and getting your first-choice course are two different outcomes. Campus location, contacts and the general overview live on the Saint Louis University profile.
SAMCIS: School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies
- Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
- Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management with specialization in Business Analytics
- Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship with specialization in Business Analytics
- Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management
- Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
- Bachelor of Multimedia Arts
One thing to watch here. SLU's consolidated academic programmes page and the SAMCIS school page describe the Financial Management specialization differently: the master list says business analytics, the SAMCIS page says financial technology. Both are SLU pages, so ask SAMCIS directly which specialization the current curriculum carries before you commit. If you are weighing the two accounting degrees, remember that BS Accountancy is the one that leads to the CPA licensure exam; management accounting does not. Our BS Accountancy guide explains that split.
Bachelor of Multimedia Arts is a comparatively recent addition and the only creative-industry degree in SLU's undergraduate line-up.
SEA: School of Engineering and Architecture
- Bachelor of Science in Architecture
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering
Nine engineering programmes plus architecture is a wide offering by Philippine standards, and it is the main reason students from across Northern Luzon apply to SLU rather than travelling to Manila.
Two of the ten do not lead to a licensure exam. The Professional Regulation Commission's list of professional regulatory boards covers chemical, civil, electrical, electronics, geodetic, mechanical and mining engineering, along with architecture — but there is no board for industrial engineering and none for mechatronics engineering. Those are legitimate, employable degrees; they simply are not licensed professions in the Philippines, so nobody sits a board exam for them and nobody signs drawings under them. Know that going in.
Mining and geodetic engineering are both relatively rare offerings. Our BS Mining Engineering guide covers what one of them involves and where graduates work.
SONAHBS: School of Nursing, Allied Health, and Biological Sciences
- Bachelor of Science in Biology
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
- Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology
Four of these five lead to a PRC licensure exam. Biology does not — it is a science degree, not a licensed profession, and it is most often taken as a pre-medicine or pre-graduate-school track. Medical Laboratory Science is the one course SLU explicitly closes to transferees. Our BS Pharmacy guide covers the licensure path for one of the others.
STELA: School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts
- Bachelor of Arts in Communication
- Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy
- Bachelor of Arts in Political Science
- Bachelor of Elementary Education
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, Filipino, Math, Science, or Social Studies
- Bachelor of Physical Education
- Bachelor of Special Needs Education
- Bachelor of Science in Psychology
- Bachelor of Science in Social Work
- Certificate in Teaching
The Certificate in Teaching is worth calling out. It is not a degree; it is the units pathway for graduates of non-education degrees who need education coursework before they can sit the Licensure Examination for Teachers. If you already hold a bachelor's degree and want to teach, this is the programme to ask about rather than a second full degree.
Special Needs Education and Social Work are both licensure programmes, and both are smaller, less crowded fields than general education.
Professional schools
| School | Programmes |
|---|---|
| School of Law (SOL) | Juris Doctor, Master of Laws (LL.M.) |
| School of Medicine (SOM) | Doctor of Medicine |
Both are entered after a bachelor's degree, and both run their own admission processes separate from the SLU-CEE.
School of Advanced Studies: graduate programmes
SLU groups its graduate offerings into seven clusters. The list is long, so here is the shape of it:
- Accountancy, business and management: PhD in Management, MBA, Master of Entrepreneurship, MS Accountancy, MS Business Administration, MS Public Management
- Computing and information technology: Master in Information Technology, Master in Library and Information Science, MS Service, Management and Engineering
- Engineering: Doctor of Engineering (research track), Master in Manufacturing Engineering and Management, MA Environmental and Habitat Planning, Master of Engineering in chemical, electrical, electronics, industrial or mechanical engineering, MS Environmental Engineering, MS Management Engineering
- Liberal arts: PhD Philosophy, PhD Psychology, MA Philosophy, MA Religious Studies, MS Guidance and Counseling, MS Psychology
- Natural sciences: PhD Biology, PhD Pharmacy, Master in Environmental Sciences, MS Biology, MS Environmental and Conservation Biology, MS Medical Technology, MS Pharmacy, MS Public Health
- Nursing: PhD Nursing (research track), MS Nursing
- Teacher education: PhD in Science Education, Educational Management and Language Education, plus MA programmes in early childhood, Filipino, inclusive, language, mathematics, science and social studies education, Catholic educational leadership and management, educational management, special education, and MS Physical Education and Sports
Note that MS Guidance and Counseling matters practically: Guidance and Counseling is one of the 46 PRC-regulated professions, and the master's degree is part of the standard route into it.
How SLU actually admits undergraduates
This is the part that catches applicants out. SLU's admission policy says two things, and both have to be true for you to get in:
- You must pass the SLU College Entrance Examination (SLU-CEE).
- You must qualify within the slots determined for your chosen course.
That second condition means the SLU-CEE is not a simple pass or fail gate. Each programme has a fixed number of slots, so a score that comfortably clears one course may not clear another. If your target is one of the high-demand programmes, treat the exam as a ranked competition and have a realistic second choice.
On timing, SLU publishes a pattern rather than fixed dates: registration for the SLU-CEE is in December or January, the regular exam is conducted on weekends from March to April, and admission for the first semester starts in the middle of July. Those windows shift each cycle. Applications go through SLU's freshmen portal, and the University Registrar's Office announces the actual dates. Do not plan around a date you saw on a forum. For how SLU-CEE compares with the other big Philippine entrance tests, see our comparison of college entrance exams.
Transferees follow a different route: a Qualifying Examination first, then a personality test and interview if they qualify. SLU accepts transferees into every course except Medical Laboratory Science.
Foreign applicants have a longer runway. SLU asks them to apply no later than six months before the term starts and to be physically in Baguio at least four weeks before classes, because they sit an English Proficiency Test plus the relevant entrance exam and a personality test, then go through pre-admission processing at the Student Affairs Office.
What SLU does not publish
SLU does not put a tuition schedule on its public site. There is no per-programme fee table, no downpayment figure, no assessment breakdown. What it does publish, in detail, is financial aid: scholarships managed by the Guidance Center, CHED scholarship programmes and UniFAST grants managed through the University Registrar's Office, graduate scholarships through the School of Advanced Studies, PEAC for basic education, and a tuition loan partner.
That means any SLU tuition figure you find on an aggregator site is somebody's estimate, not the university's published rate. Ask the admissions helpdesk for a current assessment for your specific programme and year level. If cost is the deciding factor, our CHED TES guide explains the subsidy that most often applies at private universities, and our roundup of private schools in Baguio covers the local alternatives.
SLU also does not publish SLU-CEE coverage, item counts or cut-off scores. Any specific number you see quoted for those is unverified.
