TL;DR: Rizal Technological University publishes a compact list — around 35 undergraduate programmes across six academic units, weighted toward engineering, technical-vocational teacher education and business. It includes BS Astronomy, which RTU pioneered in the Philippines. It does not include nursing, criminology, law, medicine, hospitality or tourism, and there is no BS Computer Science on the published list, only BS Information Technology at the Pasig campus.
Everything below is taken from RTU's own undergraduate and graduate programme pages.
For address, contacts and reviews, see the Rizal Technological University main campus profile on SchoolFinderPH. This post is the programme list.
How RTU organises itself
RTU splits its undergraduate offerings across six academic units, and it uses two labels — College and Institute — with the Institutes being small, single-programme units:
- College of Engineering and Architecture
- College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy
- College of Education
- College of Arts and Sciences
- Institute of Computer Studies
- Institute of Architecture
- Institute of Human Kinetics
The university identifies itself as serving the Cities of Mandaluyong and Pasig. Its own course offerings page tags a handful of programmes to the Boni campus in Mandaluyong and one to Pasig; the rest are untagged. That tagging is the only campus information the list carries, so treat it as a starting point rather than a complete map.
Engineering and architecture
The College of Engineering and Architecture publishes eight engineering degrees:
| Programme | Campus tag on RTU's list |
|---|---|
| BS Mechanical Engineering | not tagged |
| BS Civil Engineering | not tagged |
| BS Electrical Engineering | not tagged |
| BS Electronics Engineering | not tagged |
| BS Computer Engineering | not tagged |
| BS Industrial Engineering | Boni Campus |
| BS Instrumentation and Control Engineering | Boni Campus |
| BS Mechatronics | not tagged |
Architecture sits in its own unit — the Institute of Architecture, offering BS Architecture — rather than inside the engineering college, despite the college's name.
Four of those eight lead to a Professional Regulation Commission licensure examination: Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering and Mechatronics have no separate PRC board examination of their own. That is not a flaw in the programmes, but it changes your first job search, and it is the kind of thing worth confirming against the PRC's own list of regulated professions before you enrol. Our mechanical engineering board exam guide covers one of the licensed routes in detail.
Instrumentation and Control Engineering is the standout here. Very few Philippine universities carry it, and it points at process industries, manufacturing automation and plant control work.
Computing
The Institute of Computer Studies publishes exactly one degree:
- BS Information Technology (Pasig Campus)
That is the whole list. There is no BS Computer Science on RTU's published course offerings, which surprises applicants who assume a "technological university" must carry one. If a computer science degree specifically is what you need — and the two are not interchangeable, as our BS Computer Science guide explains — confirm directly with RTU before you apply, and have a second university in mind.
The Pasig tag matters too. If you were planning on the Mandaluyong campus for IT, check that first.
Business, entrepreneurship and accountancy
The College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy publishes:
- BS Accountancy
- BS Entrepreneurship
- BS Office Administration
- BS Business Administration major in Operations Management
- BS Business Administration major in Marketing Management
- BS Business Administration major in Financial Management
- BS Business Administration major in Human Resource Management
A conventional list, with four BSBA majors and Accountancy as the licensure-track option.
Education
This is where RTU's technical identity shows most clearly. Alongside the standard secondary education majors, it runs six technical-vocational teacher education tracks.
Bachelor of Secondary Education:
- major in English
- major in Math
- major in Science (Boni Campus)
- major in Social Studies
- major in Filipino
Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education:
- major in Animation
- major in Computer Hardware Servicing
- major in Visual Graphic Design
- major in Garments, Fashion and Design
- major in Electronics Technology
- major in Welding and Fabrications Technology
Animation and Visual Graphic Design as teacher education majors are unusual anywhere in the country. They train you to teach those subjects in the senior high school TVL track, which is a real and growing hiring area since the K-to-12 rollout. If teaching is your route, our guide on how to become a teacher in the Philippines covers where the degree sits relative to the licensure examination.
Arts and sciences
The College of Arts and Sciences publishes:
- BS Psychology
- BA Political Science
- BS Statistics (Boni Campus)
- BS Biology (Boni Campus)
- BS Astronomy
Two things to pull out.
BS Astronomy is the programme RTU is known for. RTU was the first Philippine institution to offer astronomy as a formal degree, and it carries the subject all the way through — the graduate list below includes a Master of Science in Astronomy and a Graduate Diploma in Astronomy. If astronomy is your field, the number of Philippine options is very small and this is the established one.
BS Statistics is the quieter find. It is a genuinely scarce undergraduate degree in the Philippines and it feeds directly into data work, government statistics and research, so it is worth a look even if you arrived here for something else.
Human kinetics
The Institute of Human Kinetics publishes one degree:
- BS Physical Education (Boni Campus)
Graduate programmes
RTU's graduate offerings sit under four colleges.
College of Arts and Sciences: Master of Arts in Psychology, Master of Science in Astronomy, Master of Arts in Public Administration, Graduate Diploma in Astronomy, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration.
College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy: Master in Business Administration and Doctor in Business Administration.
College of Engineering and Architecture: Master of Science in Engineering with majors in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering; plus a Master of Science in Information Technology.
College of Education: Master of Arts in Literature and Language Instruction, Master of Arts in Science Education, Master of Arts in Mathematics Education, Master of Arts in Technology Education major in Instructional Design and Technology, Master of Arts in Educational Management, and a Doctor of Philosophy major in Technology Education.
RTU publishes a named programme chair and a contact email address for every graduate programme, which is more than most universities do. If you have a specific question about a graduate route, you can address it to the actual chair rather than to a general inbox.
What RTU does not offer
The gaps here are larger than at a comparable state university, and they are the fastest way to work out whether RTU belongs on your list.
Not on RTU's published undergraduate course offerings:
- No nursing, medical technology, pharmacy, midwifery or any allied health degree
- No criminology
- No law school and no medical school
- No hospitality management or tourism management
- No BS Computer Science, only BS Information Technology
- No agriculture, veterinary medicine or fisheries
- No chemical, geodetic, sanitary or metallurgical engineering — the eight listed above are the full engineering set
RTU is a technology-and-teaching university with a strong engineering core and an unusual astronomy specialism. It is not a comprehensive university, and applying on the assumption that it must carry a standard programme is how people waste a cycle.
Admission and cost
RTU publishes its programme offerings and its general guidelines for the freshman admission and enrolment process on its Admission page, keyed to a specific school year. Application windows and any entrance examination schedule change every cycle, so take dates and requirements from that page directly rather than from a repost. The university's Student Records and Admission Center publishes downloadable forms, including a transfer credit evaluation form for undergraduate transferees. If you are sitting more than one entrance test, our comparison of Philippine college entrance exams covers how the major ones differ.
On cost: RTU is a state university and therefore falls under Republic Act 10931, the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, which provides free tuition and other school fees at state universities and colleges for qualified students. It is not a blanket waiver — the law has exclusions and rules on losing eligibility. For the wider Metro Manila picture, including the city-funded universities that operate on different rules, see our guide to free city universities in Metro Manila.
