Notre Dame-Siena College of General Santos City is a private Catholic school administered by Dominican Sisters, tracing its history to 1953, when Notre Dame of Lagao opened extension classes in Dadiangas that grew into Notre Dame of Dadiangas. The school became coeducational in the 1998-1999 school year, and the Securities and Exchange Commission approved its renaming to Notre Dame of General Santos City in September 2000. Its Basic Education program has held PAASCU accreditation since it first received the distinction in April 1985, with its current Level II status valid through May 2027, one of the earliest PAASCU-accredited institutions in the Notre Dame Education Association system.
