Isabela State University, San Mariano

Isabela State University was established by Presidential Decree No. 1434 on 10 June 1978. A second wave of expansion came in 2002, when three CHED-Supervised Institutions were integrated into the system: the Roxas Memorial Agricultural and Industrial School at Roxas, the Delfin Albano Memorial Institute of Agriculture and Technology at San Mariano, and the Angadanan Agro-Industrial College at Angadanan. The San Mariano campus was the Delfin Albano Memorial Institute of Agriculture and Technology, named for the Isabela congressman who authored several pieces of education legislation for the province. San Mariano is the largest municipality in Isabela by land area and sits on the eastern edge of the province against the Sierra Madre, bordering the Northern Sierra Madre Natural Park. That position makes the campus the university's presence in a remote and largely agricultural part of the province, and the agriculture and technology mandate it inherited fits that setting. CHED currently lists 10 recognised programmes at this campus — 9 bachelor's and 1 sub-degree — concentrated in arts and sciences, teacher education and hospitality and tourism. Programme recognition changes over time, so confirm the current offering with the campus registrar.
