FEU-NRMF Courses Offered: Every Program and Where It Leads

TL;DR — FEU-NRMF is a health sciences institution and nothing else. Eight undergraduate degrees, all in allied health; an accelerated seven-year pathway called PRISM that takes a STEM senior high graduate with an 80% GWA straight through to the MD; the Doctor of Medicine as a standard four-year entry via NMAT; and three non-thesis master programs. Every one of the eight bachelor degrees ends at a PRC licensure examination. The school publishes no tuition figures for any of them.

If you want the cost side, our FEU-NRMF tuition guide covers what is known and what is not. This piece is about the programs themselves: what you are signing up for, what each requires at the door, and what licence sits at the end.

What makes the shape of this school unusual

Most universities offer health sciences as one college among many. FEU-NRMF offers only health sciences, and it runs its own teaching hospital — the FEU-NRMF Medical Center, operated in partnership with Healthway — on the Fairview campus. That is the structural argument for the school: your clinical rotations, laboratory work and internship happen in a facility the institution controls, not in a hospital it rents time from.

The trade-off is equally structural. There is no shifting to business, engineering or education if you decide medicine is not for you. A shift at FEU-NRMF means a lateral move to another allied health program, or a transfer out.

The eight undergraduate programs

All eight run four years. The unit figures below are what the school publishes for the first term, which is a useful proxy for how front-loaded each curriculum is.

ProgramFirst-term unitsLicence it leads to
BS Pharmacy30Pharmacist Licensure Examination
BS Physical Therapy28Physical Therapist Licensure Examination
BS Nursing27Nurse Licensure Examination
BS Radiologic Technology27Radiologic Technologist Licensure Examination
BS Medical Laboratory Science25Medical Technologist Licensure Examination
BS Respiratory Therapy25Respiratory Therapist Licensure Examination
BS Psychology17Psychometrician Licensure Examination
BS Nutrition and Dietetics180 total unitsNutritionist-Dietitian Licensure Examination

That 17-unit first term for BS Psychology against 30 for BS Pharmacy is not a rounding difference. Pharmacy front-loads basic sciences hard and progresses into advanced pharmaceutical coursework; psychology starts lighter and builds. Plan your first-year workload accordingly.

A few program-specific details worth knowing:

  • BS Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology includes a one-year clinical internship. The school frames it as preparation for clinical and diagnostic laboratory work. See BS Medical Technology for what the profession involves day to day.
  • BS Nursing starts professional nursing courses in year one, which is earlier than many programs that spend the first year on general education.
  • BS Physical Therapy runs one year of general education, three years of professional coursework, and finishes with a 45-week clinical internship — close to a full working year. Budget for that fourth year being unpaid, full-time and clinic-based.
  • BS Radiologic Technology covers general radiography plus specialisations in ultrasound, CT, MRI, mammography and nuclear medicine. That specialisation list is the differentiator, and it is what separates a radiologic technologist who can work a modern imaging suite from one who cannot.
  • BS Respiratory Therapy covers adult, neonatal and paediatric respiratory care. It is a small profession with a correspondingly small graduate pool, which is discussed in BS Respiratory Therapy.
  • BS Psychology includes placements at rehabilitation centres and mental health facilities. Note the licence ceiling: a bachelor's in psychology qualifies you for the Psychometrician exam, not the Psychologist one, which requires a master's.
  • BS Nutrition and Dietetics is the only program published as a total unit count — 180 units across four years — covering the foodservice cycle, food safety and clinical dietetics.

APMed and PRISM: the accelerated route into medicine

This is the offering that most distinguishes FEU-NRMF from a general university with a med school attached.

PRISM — Progressive Route for Innovative Studies in Medicine — compresses pre-med and medicine into a single continuous seven-year pathway. Rather than finishing a four-year bachelor's, sitting the NMAT and applying to a medical school, you enter once and stay in one curriculum. The school describes clinical exposure from the beginning of the program, outcome-based learning, simulations and faculty mentorship.

Entry requirements are specific and tight:

  • Fresh senior high school graduate
  • STEM strand
  • General Weighted Average of 80% or higher
  • First term load of 16 units
  • PSA birth certificate, ID photos, certificates of good moral character, scholastic records from grades 11 and 12

Two things to weigh. First, "fresh graduate" means this is a route for people who decide on medicine before they finish senior high, not after a gap year or a first degree. Second, seven continuous years is a long commitment made at seventeen. If you are not certain, the conventional route through a four-year science degree keeps your options open — our how to become a doctor in the Philippines guide lays out both.

Doctor of Medicine, direct entry

The MD is a four-year program with roots going back to 1952, when the Institute of Medicine was founded. Direct-entry applicants submit:

  • NMAT result
  • Transcript of records and college diploma
  • Certificate of General Weighted Average
  • PSA birth certificate
  • ID photos and certificates of good moral character

The school does not publish a minimum NMAT percentile or GWA cut-off for medicine. That is a question for the admissions office, and one worth asking before you pay for an NMAT review — our NMAT review centre roundup is the other half of that preparation.

Graduate programs

Three master programs, all non-thesis and all one and a half years:

ProgramWho it is for
Master of Healthcare ManagementHolders of medical or allied health degrees; professionals in health delivery organisations
Master of Public HealthHealth professionals dealing with population-level health problems
Master in NursingNursing professionals moving toward advanced generalist practice, policy and quality-of-care roles

Entry generally asks for a bachelor's degree in a related health field, preferably with at least a year of professional experience, plus a transcript, diploma, recommendation letters, passport photos and a birth certificate. No entrance examination is mentioned for any of the three.

The non-thesis format is the practical point here: it is built for working clinicians who need the credential without a research project attached.

Admission, in short

  • FEU-NRMF senior high graduates are exempted from the Foundation's entrance examination. Everyone else sits it.
  • The document set across programs is consistent: PSA birth certificate, ID photos, certificates of good moral character, and scholastic records or transcript.
  • Applications run through the admissions portal at admissions.feu-nrmf.edu.ph.
  • The school offers a campus tour booking and links to Bukas tuition installment plans from its own site, which is worth noting given no fee figures are published.

What is not published

  • No tuition, per-unit rate or fee schedule for any program, undergraduate or graduate. Every program page redirects to an email address.
  • No entrance examination coverage or passing mark.
  • No GWA cut-off for the standard undergraduate programs — only the 80% figure for APMed.
  • No licensure passing rates on the academic program pages.

The institution does hold PAASCU accreditation, which is the accreditation body worth checking against for a health sciences school, since it is the one that inspects nursing and medical technology programs most closely.

Choosing between eight allied health degrees

They are not interchangeable, and the fastest way to narrow the list is by what the work actually looks like:

  • Patient-facing, bedside, shift work — Nursing, Respiratory Therapy.
  • Patient-facing but appointment-based and rehabilitative — Physical Therapy, with the longest internship of the eight.
  • Laboratory and diagnostics, minimal patient contact — Medical Laboratory Science, Radiologic Technology (imaging sits in between; you handle patients but briefly).
  • Product, formulation and regulatory — Pharmacy, which also opens industrial and regulatory roles outside a hospital.
  • Population health, education and food service — Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Assessment, research and a longer route to practice — Psychology, where the bachelor's alone caps you at Psychometrician.

If you are torn between the two most commonly confused, BS Nursing vs MedTech sets them side by side.

Who FEU-NRMF suits

Someone who has already decided on health care and wants a campus where every classmate has made the same decision, with a teaching hospital on site. The APMed pathway is a genuinely strong option for a STEM senior high student who is certain about medicine and can clear 80%.

If you are still comparing across fields, or want a non-health option in the same area, browse schools in Quezon City or the Quezon City private schools roundup.

Frequently Asked Questions

What courses does FEU-NRMF offer?

Eight undergraduate programs — BS Medical Laboratory Science, BS Nursing, BS Nutrition and Dietetics, BS Pharmacy, BS Physical Therapy, BS Psychology, BS Radiologic Technology and BS Respiratory Therapy — plus the accelerated APMed pathway into medicine, the Doctor of Medicine itself, and three master programs in Healthcare Management, Public Health and Nursing.

What is PRISM at FEU-NRMF?

PRISM stands for Progressive Route for Innovative Studies in Medicine. It is the school's accelerated pathway that runs pre-med and medicine as one continuous seven-year program, with clinical exposure from the start rather than only in the later years.

What are the entry requirements for the APMed pathway?

A fresh senior high school graduate from the STEM strand with a General Weighted Average of 80% or higher. The first term carries 16 units. Documents include a PSA birth certificate, ID photos, certificates of good moral character and scholastic records from grades 11 and 12.

Do you need NMAT for FEU-NRMF medicine?

For direct entry to the Doctor of Medicine program, yes. The published document list for medicine includes an NMAT result alongside a transcript of records, college diploma, GWA certificate, PSA birth certificate, ID photos and certificates of good moral character.

Does FEU-NRMF publish its tuition?

No. Every undergraduate program page lists tuition as a contact-the-office item rather than a figure, and the graduate program pages carry no fees at all. There is no rate card on the site.

Are FEU-NRMF senior high graduates exempt from the entrance exam?

Yes. The admission requirements page states that graduates of the FEU-NRMF Senior High School program are exempted from the Foundation's entrance examination. Applicants from other schools are not.

How long is the FEU-NRMF Physical Therapy clinical internship?

The program page describes one year of general education plus three years of professional coursework, culminating in a 45-week clinical internship. That is the longest published internship of any FEU-NRMF undergraduate program.

Is FEU-NRMF the same school as FEU Manila?

No. FEU-NRMF became an independent, non-profit foundation on August 7, 1970 and moved to its Fairview campus in Quezon City in 1999. It shares a founding lineage with Far Eastern University but is a separate institution with its own admissions.
