CIT University runs a wide list for a school best known for engineering: six colleges, four doctoral programmes, and a criminology degree sitting alongside a semiconductor technology diploma. The engineering reputation is earned, but it hides how much else is on the list.
Here is the full published offering by college, plus the admission mechanics on CIT University's own enrolment page, including the exemption that lets some applicants skip the entrance test entirely. Address, contacts and level flags are on the Cebu Institute of Technology - University profile.

The semiconductor diploma is a direct response to the industry sitting around Cebu and Mactan, and it is a post-secondary qualification, not a bachelor's degree. Our best engineering schools piece covers how the engineering field is distributed nationally, and the BS Architecture guide covers the architecture route and its board exam.

Admission: the 90 per cent exemption
The most useful line on CIT University's enrolment page is easy to miss. Under the requirements for new college students it states: applicants whose general grade average reflects at least 90 per cent will be exempt from taking an entrance examination.
That is a meaningful saving of time and stress, and it means the entrance test is a screening step rather than a universal hurdle. Everybody else finds out where they stand after applying. CIT University says that after submitting an application you wait for a confirmation through the applicant portal within three working days, and that this message tells you whether you proceed to enrolment or take an entrance examination instead.
Documents by category, as published:
- New college students: report card or Form 138, certificate of good moral character, PSA certificate of live birth
- College transferees: certificate of transfer credentials or honorable dismissal, transcript of records for evaluation, certificate of good moral character, PSA certificate of live birth
- Cross-enrollees: permit to cross-enrol, certificate of good moral character
The application fee. PHP 1,000.00, described as non-refundable, paid through Dragon Pay via the WITS portal or onsite by cash, credit card or QRPh-Maya. CIT University notes that Dragon Pay payments post in real time but carry a PHP 20.00 transaction fee and are available to all Dragon Pay partners except e-wallets. Bank payments post in three to five banking days, and online or over-the-counter bank payments require proof of payment to be submitted.
Applications submitted outside office hours are processed on the next working day, which matters if you are applying against a deadline.
Graduate, doctoral and ETEEAP entry
CIT University publishes a distinct requirement set for each.
Master's applicants need an aligned bachelor's degree, a general weighted average of 3.5 or 80 per cent or better, two letters of recommendation from prominent community members, employers or former professors, an informative copy of the transcript of records, a certificate of transfer credentials, a PSA-authenticated birth certificate, and an entrance examination and interview.
Doctoral applicants in management, business administration and public administration need an appropriate master's degree, a master's thesis or an equivalent bridge programme, the same GWA floor and recommendation letters, and an entrance examination. The Doctor of Philosophy in Management adds a requirement for evidence of at least three years of work experience in teaching, educational administration, research, consultancy or a top management position.
The Doctor in Information Technology requires a master's in computer science, information technology, computer engineering or mathematics, proof of research project experience in the field, and a one-page essay on the applicant's reasons for taking the programme and their research interests.
CIT University also runs an ETEEAP track, the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program, with a pre-evaluation stage requiring an applicant evaluation sheet, an employer-certified detailed job description, transcripts or Form 138 and 137 as applicable, and certificates of employment. That is the route for working professionals seeking credit for experience rather than classroom time.
International students
The published requirements differ for new students on a tourist visa and for transferees, and both are detailed. New students submit an original birth certificate, original passport and I-CARD, photocopies of a parent or guardian's passport data page, an apostilled or authenticated transcript of records and certificate of good moral character, five 2x2 photographs, a notarised affidavit of support with a bank statement, and a police clearance certificate from the country of origin or legal residence.
Transferees add a stamped 9(f) visa, a CHED endorsement, Bureau of Immigration clearance and an Alien Certificate of Registration.
CIT University requires an English proficiency examination for bachelor's and master's applicants except those from English-speaking countries. Its page gives a TOEFL total score of 64 and an IELTS band of 5 as the cut-offs, with results valid for two years. The sentence on the page is worded ambiguously, so confirm both numbers with the Office of Admissions and Scholarships rather than working from the web copy.
Personal appearance is required with no proxy application, and the passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.
Fees and scholarships
CIT University does not publish a tuition schedule on its enrolment or programme pages. The only fee figures on those pages are the PHP 1,000.00 application fee and the PHP 20.00 Dragon Pay transaction fee. For an assessment you need the Office of Admissions and Scholarships or the Finance and Accounting Office.
It does publish named scholarship programmes: a Grade 7 scholarship programme, a senior high school scholarship programme, a freshman academic scholarship, a non-academic scholarship, and sponsored scholarships. Read the qualification pages before assuming an amount, because the discount structures differ between them.
