TL;DR — Assumption College San Lorenzo runs eight undergraduate degrees split across two named schools, four senior high strands plus the IB Diploma, and a graduate school. The K-12 and college divisions are for women; the graduate school is open to both. Three of the eight lead to the teachers' licensure exam and two to the psychometrician exam. Two schools, eight undergraduate degrees
The college division is not organised by faculty in the usual way. It is split into two named schools, and the split tells you what the institution thinks it is for.
Marie Eugenie School for Innovative Learning (MESIL)

That is a deliberately narrow catalogue. There is no engineering, no nursing, no accountancy, no law and no computing degree. A student who wants any of those is not choosing between Assumption and a bigger university, she is choosing a different school entirely. What is here is education, psychology, communication and business, taught in small divisions.

The psychology pair is the one that needs explaining. A bachelor's degree qualifies you for the psychometrician licensure exam, which is a real PRC licence but is one rung below psychologist. The education degrees are the most direct route here. Three of the eight degrees feed the LET, and for a student who is certain about teaching, that is a clear line from first year to a classroom.
Senior high school: four strands and the IB
Assumption describes its senior high programme as aimed at forming women servant-leaders, and it publishes what each strand does rather than just naming them.
ABM builds toward management and an entrepreneurial mindset, with students writing original business plans and taking part in a Business Enterprise Simulation.
STEM runs authentic investigatory projects presented at a Science Congress.
HUMSS studies society, ideologies and institutions, with community immersions used as the practical component.
Arts and Design develops students' creative interests as a track in its own right rather than as an elective. Our Arts and Design strand guide covers where that track leads at college level, which is a fair question to ask before committing to it.
The senior high programme as a whole is built around projects: the Research Congress, Science Innovation, Business Implementation, art production and curation, work immersion, an inter-faith youth camp and a Model ASEAN Summit. If your daughter is the kind of student who does better with a portfolio than an exam, that structure is the argument for this school.
Separately, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is offered to interested students. The IB is a different qualification with a different assessment system and usually a different fee, so treat it as a parallel decision rather than a strand choice. For preschool, the school runs the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-based approach to religious education, and states it will be offered up to Grade 3 in coming years.
The graduate school is the part open to men
Assumption states plainly that the graduate school is open to both women and men, continuing what it calls its tradition of academic excellence, and that its programmes emphasise integrative, experiential and reflective learning.
What it does not do is name the degrees. The graduate page groups its offerings under two headings, Psychology and Education, and mentions a 30-unit Educational Certificate course, but the individual master's or doctoral titles are not listed on that page. If graduate study is what you are after, write to the graduate school before you invest time in an application, and ask for the current programme list in writing.
The entry requirements are published in full, and they are stricter than most:
- A bachelor's degree with the original transcript from the awarding institution
- A cumulative undergraduate average of at least 85 percent or 2.0
- Letters of recommendation or an NBI clearance
- An average rating on the official entrance standardised test
- A satisfactory interview with the Graduate School Dean
- An English proficiency test for foreign students
- A minimum of 18 units in the discipline you intend to do graduate work in
Where those 18 units are missing, the school may admit you on probationary status and bar you from basic and major courses until the prerequisites are done. Probationary admission is also possible where the undergraduate record or test scores fall short, with the status reviewed after one semester against a 2.0 minimum in each subject.
Applying to the college division
Undergraduate application is short by comparison. Complete the online pre-registration form, then supply copies of your Grade 11 and Grade 12 report cards (Grade 12 only if available), recommendation forms from your senior high principal and guidance counsellor, a PSA birth certificate, and one 2x2 ID photo with a white background. Accepted graduate applicants must additionally submit chest X-ray, CBC and blood type results, plus a physical exam conducted by the Assumption College physician specifically.
On cost
Assumption maintains tuition fee pages for both the K-12 division and the college and graduate school. Neither publishes a figure. The K-12 page redirects to the basic education microsite, and the higher education page carries no table at all. The school does publish a Scholarship and Financial Aid page for its higher education division.
For a school in San Lorenzo Village offering an IB programme, the absence of any published number is the single biggest practical gap for a family budgeting a decision. Ask admissions for the full schedule of fees, by level and by programme, and ask specifically whether the IB Diploma carries a separate charge on top of senior high tuition. Do that before the application, not after.
Who this school actually suits
A narrow catalogue is a feature for some families and a dealbreaker for others, so it is worth being blunt about the fit.
It suits a student who already knows the direction. Teaching, psychology, communication or business, in a small division where faculty know your name. The three education degrees and the two psychology degrees are the clearest lines from enrolment to a licence on this list.
It suits a student who works well in projects. The senior high programme is built on congresses, simulations, immersions and productions rather than on exam drilling. That is a genuine difference in daily experience, not marketing.
It does not suit a student who is still deciding. There is no engineering, no health science, no computing and no accountancy here, so a change of heart in second year usually means changing schools rather than changing courses. At a larger university that same student could shift internally. Ask about the shifting policy between MESIL and MSBMW programmes, but understand it only moves you between eight degrees.
It does not suit a family that needs the number first. No published tuition means you commit to the application before you see the cost.
What to ask before applying
- Which of the eight undergraduate degrees have a full four-year cohort running now, and how large is each year level?
- For the education degrees, what LET passing rate have recent Assumption graduates posted?
- For the IB Diploma, what is the additional cost over the regular senior high programme, and how many students are in the current cohort?
- For graduate study, what are the actual degree titles currently on offer under Psychology and Education?
- What does the full first-year assessment come to, including miscellaneous and laboratory fees, not tuition alone?
