University of the Assumption Courses Offered and Fees

TL;DR: University of the Assumption in San Fernando, Pampanga publishes its full CHED-noted fee schedule, which is unusual and makes this one of the few private universities you can actually budget for before you visit. Undergraduate tuition for AY 2026-2027 is PHP 1,056.00 per unit for most programs and PHP 1,041.00 for BS Criminology. It runs roughly twenty undergraduate degrees across eight colleges and schools, plus a graduate school, and ten of its programs hold PAASCU accreditation, two of them at Level III.

Most Philippine universities keep their fee schedules off the web. UA does the opposite: it links its Comparative Schedule of Tuition and Other School Fees straight from the main navigation, complete with the CHED Education Supervisor's "contents noted" stamp dated July 14, 2026. That single document answers more questions than a campus tour would.

This guide works through what the university actually offers, what each programme leads to, and what the published numbers mean in practice.

The eight colleges and schools

  • College of Accountancy
  • College of Engineering and Architecture
  • College of Hospitality and Tourism Management
  • College of Information Technology
  • College of Nursing and Pharmacy
  • School of Arts and Sciences
  • School of Business and Public Administration
  • School of Education

Below those sit Grade School, Junior High School and Senior High School, and above them a Graduate School.

The degree programs, and where they lead

Health sciences. BS Nursing, a four-year programme the university describes at Level 6 of the Philippine Qualifications Framework, leading to the nurse licensure examination. BS Pharmacy, founded in 2018, a four-year programme built around the WHO eight-star pharmacist model and ending in the pharmacist licensure examination.

Engineering and architecture. BS Civil Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, BS Electronics Engineering, BS Industrial Engineering and BS Architecture. All five are PRC board programmes, and all five carry the highest laboratory fees on the schedule.

Accountancy. BS Accountancy, aligned by the college to CHED policy and the PRC Board of Accountancy, leading to the CPA licensure examination. The College of Accountancy also runs BS Accounting Information System, for students who want accounting expertise paired with information systems rather than the audit and public-practice route.

Business and public administration. BS Business Administration with majors in Marketing Management and Operations Management, plus Public Administration at graduate level. The school maintains an active collaboration with Handong Global University in South Korea.

Education. The School of Education runs Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education with majors including English, Mathematics, and Values Education with Religious Education. All lead to the Licensure Examination for Teachers.

Computing and information. BS Information Technology and BS Computer Science, under a college that also covers library science, and BS Library and Information Services.

Hospitality and tourism. BS Hospitality Management and BS Tourism Management. Note that the fee schedule uses the older name BS Hotel and Restaurant Management for the first of these, so you will see both.

Arts and sciences. AB Communication, which has held CHED government recognition since August 6, 2008 and runs its own radio and television laboratory, plus BS Psychology and Bachelor in Human Services.

Criminology. BS Criminology, a department established in 2023, leading to the criminologist licensure examination. Our BS Criminology guide covers what that path involves.

Graduate school. Master of Arts in Education, Master of Arts in Guidance Counselling, Master in Business Administration, Master in Public Administration, Master of Arts in Theological Studies, and a Doctor of Philosophy programme.

What it costs, in published figures

These come from the university's own comparative schedule for AY 2026-2027, noted by CHED on July 14, 2026.

Other school fees, unchanged at zero percent increase for 2026-2027:

Athletics and sports developmentPHP 474.00

UA Central Student CouncilPHP 150.00

Programme laboratory fees, also unchanged: nursing arts laboratory PHP 2,500.00, criminology laboratory PHP 2,130.00, computer and CISCO laboratory PHP 1,500.00, industrial and civil engineering technical laboratory PHP 1,055.00, speech, science, psychology and hospitality laboratory PHP 914.00, and architecture and interior design technical laboratory PHP 728.00.

Two things this table lets you do that a brochure would not. First, estimate: a typical undergraduate load, multiplied by PHP 1,056, plus roughly PHP 3,700 in fixed fees, plus your programme's laboratory fee, plus PHP 75 per unit maintenance, gets you close to a semester's bill. Second, see the pattern — tuition rose about 1.5 percent while every other fee held flat, which is a far more restrained increase than most private universities post.

Note that CHED's free tuition law covers state and local universities, not private ones. Our CHED free tuition guide explains where the line falls, and why a private university's published schedule is what you actually pay.

Accreditation, verified

Read it carefully rather than as a badge. Ten programmes are accredited, but Accountancy, Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, Psychology and Criminology are not on that list, and the two graduate listings show validity dates that have passed. Accreditation is voluntary and programme-specific, so its absence is not a quality verdict. It does mean that for those programmes you should ask the dean directly for licensure passing rates instead, and our board exam passing rates by course shows why that number is worth chasing.

Senior high, and the university's own pipeline

UA's senior high school runs the Academic Track, but publishes it as career paths rather than the usual strand labels: Medical Allied; Architecture, Engineering and Related Programs; Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Related Programs; Accountancy; and Financial Management, Tourism and Hospitality, Entrepreneurship and Business Related Programs.

Every one of those maps onto a college on the same campus. If you are choosing a senior high school in Pampanga with a specific degree already in mind, that alignment is the argument for this one. Our best private schools in Pampanga roundup and the wider San Fernando, Pampanga listings are worth reading alongside it.

Scholarships

For incoming first year students the published grants are narrow but substantial. A graduate with highest honours and a general weighted average of 98 to 100 gets a 100 percent discount on 21 units enrolled for the first semester, excluding miscellaneous and other fees, with no scholarship examination required. A graduate with high honours and a GWA of 95 to 97 gets 50 percent on the same basis but must pass the scholarship examination. Both require the UA scholarship application form, the final report card and the certificate of recognition.

Read the exclusion. The discount applies to tuition on 21 units, not to the roughly PHP 3,700 of fixed fees or to your laboratory fee. Ask the finance office what a scholarship holder's actual first-semester bill comes to.
