Courses Offered at STI College Las Piñas

TL;DR — STI publishes a national programme catalogue and a campus directory, and the two do not meet. The Las Piñas entry lists phone numbers and nothing else, so nobody can tell you online which courses actually run there. Below is the full national list, which of those lead to a licence, and the exact questions that get you a real answer from the campus.

The address and contacts are on the STI College Las Piñas profile, and other schools in the city are on the Las Piñas schools page.

The gap, stated plainly

STI operates 63 campuses. Its website has a programmes section listing every degree the network offers and a campuses section listing every branch, but the campus pages carry only a city, phone numbers and a Messenger link. We checked the Las Piñas entry directly: no programme list, no strand list, no fees. The campus subdomain, laspinas.sti.edu, redirects to STI's SCOPE career-quiz site rather than to a campus page.

That means any site telling you "the courses offered at STI Las Piñas" is either quoting the national list as if it were local or making it up. We are not going to do either. What follows is the network catalogue, clearly labelled as such, plus the shortest path to a confirmed local answer.

Call 8856-4484, 8871-9437 or 8871-8327 local 122, or message the campus through m.me/laspinas.sti.edu, and ask which programmes are opening for your intake. A programme in the national catalogue is not a section that opens at your campus.

Which of these end in a licence

This is where the catalogue splits, and it is the split that matters most.

Most of STI's identity sits in the unlicensed column, and that is deliberate — the school is built around employability rather than around board exams. It works, but it changes what you should be doing while enrolled. For IT and computer science the hiring signal is a project portfolio and certifications. For multimedia arts it is your reel. For hospitality and tourism it is where you did your practicum and who you impressed there.

The licensed programmes flip that. Accountancy, criminology, computer engineering and the maritime routes are pass-or-restart, and a campus's board record is the number to ask for. Our board exam passing rates by course gives the national comparison.

The two TESDA programmes are worth a second look, especially the AI prompting and automation certificate at NC Level III. They are short, they are nationally recognised, and they stack alongside a degree rather than replacing it. Our TESDA courses guide covers how the levels work.

Senior high school

STI's national senior high offering has two tracks:

  • Academic: STEM, HUMSS, ABM, General Academic.
  • Technical-professional: IT in mobile app and web development, digital arts, computer and communications technology, culinary arts, restaurant and cafe operations, tourism operations.

The technical-professional strands are the reason families choose STI over a general private school — they are vocational in substance, not academic strands with a vocational label. That is a real advantage if the plan is to work at 18, and a real constraint if the plan later changes to a licensed degree, since a tech-voc strand is a weaker foundation for STEM-heavy courses. Decide which of those two futures you are optimising for before you pick.

Again: which strands actually open at Las Piñas is not published. Ask.

Money

STI publishes no tuition figure for any campus, and rates vary by campus and programme. What it does publish is a financial assistance list, and this one is specific enough to plan around:

  • STI Open Scholarship Program — partial and full grants for incoming Grade 11 and first-year college students from DepEd-recognised schools, with no grade requirement.
  • GSIS educational assistance — a 20 percent tuition subsidy for GSIS members and dependents up to the sixth civil degree.
  • Pag-IBIG educational assistance — a 10 percent grant for Loyalty and Loyalty Plus cardholders and dependents to the second civil degree.
  • DepEd senior high school voucher — for incoming Grade 11 from public schools.
  • PEAC Education Service Contracting grants — for incoming Grade 11 from private schools, and for ALS and PEPT passers.
  • UniFAST and DBP national student loan — up to 60,000 pesos, zero interest if repaid within 12 months and 6 percent a year after that.

The loan is the item most people miss. It is a real facility with a genuinely usable grace period, and it is separate from the CHED free tuition scheme, which does not apply to private schools like STI. Our student loan guide covers the terms in more detail.

The ladder question, which is where STI is different

STI is one of the few networks that runs two-year and three-year qualifications alongside four-year degrees: a two-year Information Technology programme, the two-year Associate in Computer Technology, a three-year Hotel and Restaurant Administration, and a two-year Hospitality and Restaurant Services.

That is genuinely useful if your constraint is money or time. It is a trap if nobody tells you how the ladder works.

The question to settle before you enrol is simple and specific: if I finish the two-year programme and then continue into the four-year degree, how many units are credited, and how many semesters does the degree take from there? Ask for the answer in writing from the campus registrar, naming both programmes. "It ladders up" is not an answer. A two-year qualification that credits most of its units into a bachelor's is a staged degree with an employable exit point halfway. One that credits few of them is two separate courses stacked on top of each other, and you will have paid for six years of study to end up with a four-year degree.

The same applies to the three-year Hotel and Restaurant Administration against BS Hospitality Management. Get the unit count.

Who STI suits

Two honest observations about the network, which apply to Las Piñas as much as anywhere.

It suits someone who wants to be working at 20 rather than 22. The two-year exits are real, the tech-voc senior high strands are vocational in substance, and the TESDA certificates stack. If the plan is employment rather than a licence, that is a coherent package and the shorter timeline is worth money.

It suits someone less well if the eventual target is a licensed profession. STI can get you to accountancy or criminology, but those are the exception in a catalogue built around employability, and board performance is the metric that matters for them. Ask for the campus's own numbers rather than the network's.

The one thing that does not vary by campus is the financial aid list, which is centrally administered. If your decision is close, that list is the strongest argument on STI's side — particularly the open scholarship with no grade requirement, which is unusual.

The five questions for the campus call

  1. Which college programmes are opening at Las Piñas for this intake, not which are in the catalogue?
  2. Which senior high strands are opening, and what is the minimum class size before a strand is cancelled?
  3. What is the full first-year assessment for that programme, tuition and miscellaneous separately?
  4. If I take the two-year Associate in Computer Technology, how many units transfer into BSIT? In writing.
  5. For a licensed programme, what was the campus's passing rate at the most recent board sitting?

Frequently Asked Questions

What courses are offered at STI College Las Piñas?

STI does not publish a per-campus programme list. Its campus directory entry for Las Piñas carries contact numbers only. The national catalogue covers IT, business, hospitality, tourism, computer engineering, arts and sciences, maritime and criminology, but which of those run at Las Piñas has to be confirmed with the campus on 8856-4484.

Does STI Las Piñas have senior high school?

STI runs senior high school nationally with an academic track covering STEM, HUMSS, ABM and General Academic, plus a technical-professional track covering IT in mobile app and web development, digital arts, computer and communications technology, culinary arts, restaurant and cafe operations, and tourism operations. Confirm which strands open at Las Piñas.

Which STI courses have a board exam?

BS Accountancy, BS Computer Engineering, BS Criminology, BS Marine Transportation and BS Marine Engineering all end in a Professional Regulation Commission licensure exam. Most of STI's IT, business and hospitality degrees do not.

How much is tuition at STI Las Piñas?

STI does not publish tuition figures for any campus, and rates differ by campus and programme. Call 8856-4484 or use the campus Messenger link on STI's directory page and ask for a written assessment for the specific programme and year level.

What scholarships does STI offer?

The STI Open Scholarship Program with no grade requirement, a 20 percent GSIS tuition subsidy, a 10 percent Pag-IBIG grant, the DepEd senior high voucher, PEAC Education Service Contracting grants for private-school Grade 11 entrants, and a UniFAST and DBP student loan of up to 60,000 pesos.

Is the two-year Associate in Computer Technology worth taking?

It gets you employable faster than a four-year degree and it suits people testing whether computing fits them. Before enrolling, get in writing how many units transfer into BS Information Technology if you later ladder up, because that answer decides whether the two years are a shortcut or a detour.

Does STI Las Piñas offer maritime or criminology?

Both are in STI's national catalogue but neither is a common campus offering. Maritime programmes in particular need dedicated facilities and run at a handful of campuses only. Do not assume Las Piñas has them — confirm before applying.

Does STI have an entrance exam?

STI's admissions pages describe an online application flow rather than an entrance test, and no test fee or cut-off score is published. STI also runs SCOPE, a free career and personality assessment, but that is a guidance tool and not an admission filter.
