Courses Offered at Lyceum of the Philippines University

Lyceum of the Philippines University Manila runs a deliberately narrow undergraduate catalogue: five colleges, around a dozen degrees, and a heavy tilt towards hospitality, tourism, business and international relations. It is not trying to be a comprehensive university, and the programme list makes that obvious.

Below is the LPU Manila list exactly as the university publishes it, taken from the Program Offerings page under Admissions, which carried an "as of" date in mid-2026 when this was written. Directory listings were not used.

LPU's location and contact details sit on our Lyceum of the Philippines University profile. This post covers the programmes.

Undergraduate programmes at LPU Manila

College of Arts and Sciences

  • AB Legal Management
  • AB Multimedia Arts
  • BS major in Psychology

Three programmes, and all three are the sort that people assume are business or IT degrees and then find are not. Legal management is a pre-law social science degree, not a paralegal certificate. Our BS Psychology guide covers what that degree actually involves, and multimedia arts here is a studio-based programme rather than an IT one.

College of Business Administration

  • BS Accountancy
  • BS Management Accounting
  • BS Customs Administration
  • BS Business Administration major in Business Management
  • BS Business Administration major in Marketing Management
  • BS Business Administration major in Operations Management

BS Customs Administration is one of the two programmes that still requires the entrance test at LPU Manila, which tells you something about how the college manages intake for it. See our BS Customs Administration guide for where that degree leads.

College of International Relations

  • AB Foreign Service major in Diplomacy

One programme, one major, one college. LPU is among a small group of Philippine universities that treats foreign service as its own college rather than folding it into political science. If a diplomatic or international organisation career is the goal, that structural choice usually means a deeper subject offering than the political science major with an international relations elective you would take elsewhere.

College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management

  • BS International Hospitality Management, with specialisations in:
    • Cruise Line Operations in Culinary Arts
    • Cruise Line Operations in Hotel Services
    • Culinary Arts and Kitchen Operations
    • Hotel and Restaurant Administration
  • BS International Tourism Management

This is the college LPU is best known for. The two cruise line specialisations are the distinctive part: they exist because cruise employment is a specific labour market with its own certification expectations, not simply hotel work at sea. Ask the college which specialisations are actually opening in your intake year, because niche tracks depend on cohort size.

College of Technology

  • BS Computer Science, with Track 1 in Data Science and Analytics and Track 2 in Software Engineering
  • BS Information Technology, with Track 1 in Information Security and Track 2 in Technopreneurship
  • BS Esports, with specialisations in Esports Management and Game Design and Development

BS Esports is the one that draws attention. It is published on LPU's own offerings page under the College of Technology, with two named specialisations. Newer degree titles like this deserve two specific questions before you enrol: what authority does CHED hold for it, and has a batch graduated yet. Ask the college and get the answer in writing. Our BS Computer Science guide explains what the CS tracks are built on, which is the fairest comparison point.

College of Law

  • Juris Doctor
  • Online Juris Doctor

LPU's law programmes are run from the Makati address rather than the Manila campus. The online Juris Doctor is worth pausing on: online law study has specific implications for how you accumulate the credentials the Legal Education Board and the Supreme Court expect, so ask the college directly about bar eligibility before enrolling. Get that answer in writing from the College of Law, not from a prospectus.

Graduate School

Doctoral programmes

  • PhD in Business Management
  • PhD in Fiscal Management
  • PhD in International Hospitality Management
  • PhD in International Tourism Management
  • PhD in English Language
  • PhD in Public Policies and Management
  • PhD in School Management

LPU attaches a condition to all of these that most universities do not publish so plainly: doctoral candidates are required to publish at least one research paper in a reputable national or international research journal during their studies, over and above the dissertation. If you are comparing doctoral programmes, that is a material difference in workload.

Master's programmes

  • Master of Arts in Communication
  • Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management, Guidance and Counseling, Teaching Arts, or Indigenous Education
  • Master of Arts in Foreign Service
  • Master in Business Administration (Academic Track)
  • Master in Business Administration with specialisation in International Trade, People Management, or Quality Management
  • Master in Customs Administration and Supply Chain (Academic Track)
  • Master in Customs Administration and Supply Chain with specialisation in Import and Export, or Logistic Management
  • Master in Indigenous Studies
  • Master in Information Technology
  • Master in International Hospitality Management (Academic Track)
  • Master in International Hospitality Management with specialisation in Culinary Arts
  • Master in International Tourism Management (Academic Track)
  • Master in Public Administration (Academic Track)
  • Master in Public Administration with specialisation in Dispute Resolution, Quality Management, or Taxation
  • Master of Science in Psychology

Master in Indigenous Studies and the Master of Arts in Education major in Indigenous Education are unusual offerings and worth knowing about if that is your field. Check whether each is offered in an academic track or a specialisation version, since the two carry different requirements.

ETEEAP and technical education

LPU Manila carries an ETEEAP page in both its Academics and Admissions menus. The Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program allows documented work experience to be assessed towards a degree, which is a genuine route for working adults who never finished one.

The university also runs a Center for Technical Education and a TESDA Assessment Center, both with their own pages, plus a published certificate of accreditations. If you are weighing a technical certificate against a degree, ask what the assessment centre actually certifies and at what level.

The entrance test, and what the waiver means

For Academic Year 2026-2027, LPU Manila published a clear rule on its admission procedures page: the LPU College Entrance Test is waived for all programmes except BS Accountancy and BS Customs Administration, for which the entrance examination is still required.

Read that as a policy for a stated cycle, not a permanent feature. Entrance test waivers are among the most frequently revised admission rules in Philippine private universities, and a waiver announced for one academic year says nothing reliable about the next. Check the admission procedures page for the year you are actually applying.

LPU separately runs a JPL-SHL Scholarship Examination, which for that same cycle covered BS Accountancy, BS Customs Administration and BS major in Psychology only. That is a scholarship test rather than an admission test, and the two have different deadlines. If you are sitting several tests this year, our comparison of Philippine entrance exams will help you plan the sequence.

What LPU Manila does not offer

This is as important as the list itself, because LPU's reputation for hospitality and international programmes leads people to assume it is a comprehensive university. It is not, at least not in Manila.

There is no undergraduate engineering programme on the Manila offerings page. There is no nursing, no medical technology, no pharmacy and no medicine. There is no undergraduate education degree either: education appears only at master's level, as a Master of Arts in Education with four majors. There is no architecture and no criminology.

If any of those is your target, LPU Manila is not the school, and you should check whether another LPU campus carries it rather than assuming the university as a whole does. Our guide to the best engineering schools in the Philippines covers the alternatives for one of the biggest gaps.

The campus network

LPU Manila's own site footer links to five other campuses: Makati, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna and Davao. Every one of them maintains its own website with its own programme offerings.

The lists are not the same. The College of Law runs from Makati. Some campuses carry engineering, education or criminal justice programmes that Manila does not. If your target campus is not Manila, do not use this page as your list. Go to that campus's own site and read its programme offerings page.

An honest note on method: while researching this post, several LPU campus sites outside Manila could not be reached because of bot protection on their servers. Rather than fill the gap from a directory, this post covers only what LPU Manila publishes about itself. A short accurate list beats a long invented one.

Fees

LPU Manila's admission procedures page links to a freshmen tuition fee reference labelled by academic year. As with most private universities, the published year on that reference may lag the cycle you are applying for.

Get a written assessment from the Accounting and Finance Department for your specific programme and unit load before you commit. Our LPU tuition fee guide explains how the cost structure works, and LPU maintains its own academic scholarships and financial aid page alongside it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does LPU Manila require an entrance examination?

It depends on the programme and the cycle. For Academic Year 2026-2027 LPU Manila published that the LPU College Entrance Test is waived for all programmes except BS Accountancy and BS Customs Administration, for which the entrance examination is still required. Waivers are set cycle by cycle, so check the admission procedures page for the year you are applying rather than assuming this carries over.

What is BS Esports and is it a real degree at LPU?

It is listed on LPU Manila's own programme offerings page under the College of Technology, with two specialisations, Esports Management and Game Design and Development. It sits alongside BS Computer Science and BS Information Technology in the same college. As with any newer programme, ask the college about its CHED authority and the first graduating batch before you enrol.

How many campuses does Lyceum of the Philippines University have?

LPU Manila's own site footer links to Makati, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna and Davao alongside Manila. Programme lists differ by campus, and the College of Law operates from the Makati address. Work from the site of the campus you intend to attend, not from the Manila list, unless Manila is where you are going.

What does the College of International Relations at LPU offer?

A single undergraduate programme, AB Foreign Service, with a major in Diplomacy. It is one of a small number of Philippine universities that runs foreign service as its own college rather than as a political science major.

Are the LPU Computer Science and IT tracks separate degrees?

No. LPU lists BS Computer Science with two tracks, Data Science and Analytics and Software Engineering, and BS Information Technology with two tracks, Information Security and Technopreneurship. The tracks sit inside each degree rather than being separate conferred qualifications, so confirm with the College of Technology at what point you commit to one.

Does LPU offer an ETEEAP pathway for working professionals?

Yes. LPU Manila carries an ETEEAP page in its Academics and Admissions sections. ETEEAP is the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program, which allows relevant work experience to be assessed towards a degree. Eligibility and the programmes covered are set by the university, so enquire directly.

Does LPU publish tuition fees online?

LPU Manila's admission procedures page links to a freshmen tuition fee reference by academic year. Because these are posted per cycle and the posted year may lag the current one, treat any published figure as a reference point and get a written assessment from the Accounting and Finance Department for your actual programme and load.
