Courses Offered at Holy Angel University

Holy Angel University in Angeles City organises its academic units as schools rather than colleges, and it publishes an unusually clean list: nine undergraduate units, one graduate school, and a basic-education department. What is missing from its public pages is just as useful to know as what is on them.

For address, contacts and level flags, see the Holy Angel University profile. If you are here for cost, our separate Holy Angel tuition guide covers why the fee tables are behind a login. This post is about programmes and entry.

School of Business and Accountancy

  • BS Business Administration
  • BS Accountancy
  • BS Management Accounting
  • BS Aviation Management

Graduate: Master of Business Administration; Doctor of Business Administration; Green MBA in Leadership for a Sustainable Economy; Master in Public Administration; MS Accountancy.

Two notes. HAU publishes BS Business Administration without listing its majors on the school page, so if you want a specific track such as marketing or human resource management you have to ask the school directly. And the Green MBA in Leadership for a Sustainable Economy is a distinctive offering that few Philippine business schools run.

BS Aviation Management appears with a specialisation in Airport Management. It is a management degree, not a flying or maintenance qualification.

School of Engineering and Architecture

  • BS Aeronautical Engineering
  • BS Architecture
  • BS Civil Engineering
  • BS Computer Engineering
  • BS Electronics Communication Engineering
  • BS Electrical Engineering
  • BS Industrial Engineering
  • BS Mechanical Engineering

Graduate: Master in Engineering Program; MS Engineering Management; MS Electronics and Communications Engineering; Doctor of Technology.

All eight undergraduate programmes lead to a Professional Regulation Commission licensure examination. Aeronautical Engineering is the one to be careful about: it is an engineering degree with its own PRC board, and it is not the same thing as an aircraft maintenance technology programme or a pilot course, even though HAU offers aviation-related programmes in two other units. Our BS Aeronautical Engineering guide explains the difference.

School of Computing

  • BS Information Technology
  • BS Entertainment and Multimedia Computing
  • BS Computer Science
  • BS Cybersecurity
  • BS Cyber Security plus Professional Science Master's in CyberSecurity

Graduate: Master in Information Technology; Professional Science Master's in Cybersecurity.

A standalone undergraduate BS Cybersecurity is still rare in the Philippines, and the combined bachelor-plus-master's track is rarer still. None of the computing degrees carries a PRC licensure examination; the industry runs on vendor and international certifications instead.

School of Arts and Sciences

  • Bachelor of Arts in Communication
  • BS Psychology
  • Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

Graduate: MA Communication; MA Guidance Counselling; MS Psychology; PhD Psychology; Master in Digital Marketing Communication.

HAU runs both a BS and an AB in Psychology, which is a real distinction, not a naming quirk: the two differ in science and research load and in how well they set you up for the psychometrician route. Our BS vs AB Psychology comparison covers which one to pick.

School of Education

  • Bachelor of Elementary Education
  • Bachelor of Special Needs Education
  • Bachelor of Physical Education
  • Bachelor of Secondary Education, majors in English, Mathematics, Science, Filipino, Social Studies, and Religious and Values Education

Graduate: Master of Arts; Master of Arts in Education; PhD Educational Management.

School of Hospitality and Tourism Management

  • BS Hospitality Management
  • BS Tourism Management
  • BS International Gastronomy

Graduate: MS Hospitality and Tourism Management; Doctor of Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

BS International Gastronomy is not a standard CHED programme title you will find at most schools, and it is distinct from a culinary arts major inside a business degree.

School of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences

  • BS Nursing
  • BS Radiologic Technology
  • BS Medical Technology

Graduate: PhD Nursing Education; MS Nursing; MS Health Services Administration; MA Nursing; MS Radiologic Technology.

All three undergraduate programmes lead to PRC licensure examinations. An MS in Radiologic Technology at master's level is uncommon.

College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics

  • BS Criminology
  • Bachelor of Forensic Science

The college was established in 2009 around Criminology. Forensic Science is a separate degree and does not lead to the Criminologist Licensure Examination: only Criminology does. If your goal is police or forensic work with a licence attached, that distinction decides which programme you enrol in. Our BS Criminology guide sets out the licensure path.

HAU Aviation Institute

  • Aircraft Maintenance Technology

The Aviation Institute is listed as its own unit on the HAU college page. Aircraft maintenance is regulated through the civil aviation authority's technician licensing framework rather than through the PRC, which is a common source of confusion for applicants who assume every technical programme ends in a PRC board exam.

Basic education

The Basic Education page publishes Junior High School and Senior High School only. Strand offerings are not listed on that page, so ask the department directly. HAU's own history notes the Laboratory Elementary School closed in 1994, reopened in 1997 and received government recognition for the complete elementary level in 1999, but elementary does not appear in the current programme offerings.

How admission works

This is where Holy Angel differs from most universities its size. The published admission requirements and procedures page does not mention an entrance examination at all.

For incoming college freshmen, HAU lists:

For application (uploaded)

  • Proof of payment of the processing fee
  • Grade 12 copy of grades, first grading period only
  • PSA or NSO birth certificate

For enrolment

  • Original and photocopy of the Grade 12 report card
  • Photocopy of the PSA or NSO birth certificate
  • Original certificate of good moral character from senior high school
  • An undertaking signed by the student and parent or guardian
  • One 2x2 photo
  • Photocopy of marriage certificate for married female applicants

Applicants whose Grade 12 report card is delayed may enrol after signing a promissory note for conditional enrolment.

Transferees add honorable dismissal or transfer credentials, a certified true copy of grades, a good moral certificate from the last school attended, and a barangay clearance. HAU states that for transferees, course content, description and unit count must match, and that major and core courses are credited case by case. Our college transferee guide covers what that usually means in practice.

ALS and PEPT passers are explicitly accommodated, submitting a certificate of eligibility, the ALS or PEPT results and rating, a photocopy of the diploma, and the standard documents. That is a real route into HAU that many students do not know exists.

Foreign applicants, dual citizens and Filipino applicants with foreign parents are told to go to the Office of International Affairs first for an initial assessment of documents, and to apply only after being endorsed.

Application and enrolment windows change every cycle and are posted on the HAU admissions pages. Do not rely on a date from anywhere else.

Scholarship rules that affect your course choice

HAU publishes its scholarship guidelines in full, and two of them change how you should plan your enrolment.

You must carry a specific unit load. An institutional academic scholar has to carry a full load of at least 21 units, or more if the curriculum prescribes it. Institutional non-academic scholars, meaning student assistants, talent and sports grantees, must carry at least 18 units. If you were planning a light first semester, that decision can cost you the grant.

One grant only. A scholar may hold only one scholarship regardless of source, whether institutional, non-institutional or government. College scholarships run on a semestral basis and qualification is reassessed before every semester starts.

Other rules worth knowing before you apply:

  • Transferees may only avail non-academic scholarships after one school year of residency
  • Scholarships do not apply to advance or summer classes unless the curriculum prescribes them
  • Institutional non-academic grantees may not be gainfully employed in any capacity
  • All grants depend on approved slots and available funds
  • A scholarship waiver and contract, signed by the grantee and a parent or guardian, is required each semester except for merit scholarships
  • A major offence sanctioned by the HAU Board of Discipline disqualifies the grantee after due process

Applications go through the University Scholarships and Grants Office at PGN 103. Academic scholarship applicants submit the form with a 2x2 photo, a certified copy of grades or report card with LRN, a certificate of good moral character, and a certificate of ranking from the principal. Non-academic applicants add a recommendation form and a parent's income tax return or tax exemption certificate, and student assistants additionally submit three months of water and electricity bills, a health certificate, a barangay clearance, photographs of the exterior and interior of the house, and a sketch of the home address.

What Holy Angel does not publish

Whether there is an entrance test. The absence of one on the requirements page is notable, but it is not the same as a stated policy that there is none. Ask [email protected] before you assume.

Majors under BS Business Administration. The school page lists the degree without breaking out its majors.

Senior high school strands. The Basic Education page lists levels, not strands.

Public tuition tables. HAU's fee schedules require a university account to view. That is covered in our Holy Angel tuition guide.

There is also a Graduate School and a Basic Education department.

Does Holy Angel University offer cybersecurity?

Yes. The School of Computing publishes BS Cybersecurity and a combined BS Cyber Security plus Professional Science Master's in CyberSecurity track, alongside a standalone Professional Science Master's in Cybersecurity. Very few Philippine universities run a dedicated undergraduate cybersecurity degree.

Does Holy Angel University offer forensic science?

Yes. The College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics publishes Bachelor of Forensic Science alongside BS Criminology. They are separate degrees, and only Criminology leads to the Criminologist Licensure Examination.

What engineering courses does Holy Angel University offer?

The School of Engineering and Architecture publishes Aeronautical, Civil, Computer, Electronics Communication, Electrical, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, plus BS Architecture. Aeronautical Engineering is uncommon and is a different qualification from an aircraft maintenance or pilot programme.

Does Holy Angel University have an entrance exam?

Its published admission requirements and procedures page does not mention one. For incoming college freshmen it lists a processing-fee payment, Grade 12 first-grading grades and a PSA birth certificate for application, then report card, birth certificate, good moral certificate, a signed undertaking and a photo for enrolment. Confirm with the admissions office before assuming there is no test.

What is the HAU Aviation Institute?

A separate academic unit listed alongside the schools and colleges on the HAU college page. The only programme it publishes is Aircraft Maintenance Technology, which is a technical qualification regulated through the aviation authority rather than a PRC licensure route.

Does Holy Angel University still have an elementary school?

No. The Basic Education page lists only Junior High School and Senior High School. HAU's own history states the Laboratory Elementary School was reopened in 1997 and given government recognition in 1999, but the current programme offerings do not include an elementary level.
