Hercor College Courses Offered: Programs, Admission and Aid

TL;DR — Hercor College in Roxas City offers five college departments — Criminology, Hospitality Management, Computer Science, Business Administration and Education — plus junior and senior high. Two of those five end at a PRC licence. Admission runs as a nine-step, walk-in process you can complete in a day or two, with no appointment. The school publishes a long scholarship list with no amounts attached, and no tuition figure at all. Its website currently 404s on every route, so confirm everything by phone.

The website is down, so read this with care

Before anything else: hercorcollege.edu.ph returns a 404 page on every path we tried, including the root. Its robots.txt and sitemap.xml both return empty responses with a 200 status. That is a deployment problem, not a block on automated traffic — a normal browser gets the same 404.

Everything below is from the school's own pages, read from publicly archived captures dated April 2026. It is Hercor's own wording. It is also several months old, and one detail in it is wrong on its face: the school's own enrolment post describes Roxas City as being "in the heart of Central Visayas." Roxas City is in Capiz, Western Visayas, Region VI. That is the kind of slip that tells you to verify the rest by phone rather than assume it is current.

Working contacts published by the school: (036) 621 6896, also given as (036) 6216-896 / 897, admissions mobile 0930-714 9807, campus at Km. 1 Lawaan Hills, Roxas Avenue Extension, Roxas City.

The five college departments

Criminology

The school describes BS Criminology as training for law enforcement and forensic work, building discipline, investigation skills and community service grounded in ethics, with graduates going into the tri-bureaus, forensic laboratories or security agencies.

This is the program with the clearest destination. BS Criminology ends at the Criminologist Licensure Examination, and a Registered Criminologist credential is what the PNP, BFP and BJMP recruit on. See BS Criminology for the curriculum and the licence, and board exam passing rates by course for the national baseline you should measure any school's results against.

Hospitality Management

Described as including BS Hotel and Restaurant Management with culinary and tourism core competencies, covering front-office operations, food and beverage, events and hotel management, with hands-on learning to industry standards.

Note the framing: hospitality and tourism are presented as one department with tourism competencies folded in, rather than as two separate degrees. If you specifically want a BS Tourism Management diploma rather than an HRM one with tourism content, ask which award you actually graduate with. Our BS Hospitality Management guide explains why the distinction matters to employers. No board exam either way.

Computer Science

BS Computer Science, covering programming, systems development, data management and emerging technologies through project work, with graduates pointed at IT, data analysis and web development.

No board exam. In a smaller regional college, the thing to interrogate is the practical stack — what languages and tools are actually taught, what the internship partners are, and what equipment the laboratories have.

Business Administration

BS Business Administration covering marketing, finance, operations and entrepreneurship. No board exam, no published majors. Ask whether specific majors exist, because a BSBA without a declared major is a weaker signal on a CV than one with Financial Management or Marketing on it.

Education

Described as including Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education, with pedagogy, classroom practice and licensure preparation.

Both end at the Licensure Examination for Teachers, which is the only credential that gets you hired by DepEd. Our how to become a teacher in the Philippines guide covers the full route. As with criminology, ask for the school's recent LET passing rate — it is the number that separates education programs, and it is not published anywhere on Hercor's site.

High School Department

Junior High School and Senior High School, described as a foundation in academics, values and campus life preparing learners for college. Specific senior high strands are not listed, which is a gap if you are choosing an SHS strand — ask which of ABM, HUMSS, STEM, GAS or TVL are actually offered, and for TVL, which specialisations.

The admission process, step by step

Hercor publishes this as a linear walk-in flow, and states it is identical for freshmen and transferees. No appointment is needed.

  1. Front Office — get and fill out the entrance exam form. Bring a valid ID.
  2. Business Cashier — pay the entrance exam fee, keep the receipt. The amount is not published.
  3. ICTSD (Information and Communications Technology Services Department) — sit the entrance exam with your form and receipt. The school describes coverage as basic subjects including mathematics, English and logic, roughly one to two hours, with results often available the same day.
  4. Guidance Office — an interview about your goals and program choice.
  5. Registrar — document submission and encoding. Bring the registered entrance exam form, entrance exam result, high school card (or transfer credentials), certificate of good moral character, and a white long folder.
  6. Dean's Office for your chosen department — a recommendation, which is effectively the green light for your program.
  7. Registrar's Office — official enrolment. Documents needed here are the exam results, high school card or transcript for freshmen, transfer credentials for transferees, and a birth certificate.
  8. Business Office / Cashier — pay tuition and fees, in full or on an installment plan. Get the official receipt.
  9. Multimedia Office — photo and student ID.

Transferees also bring honorable dismissal and a transcript from their previous school, which slot into steps 6 through 8.

The whole thing is designed to be finished in a day or two if your documents are complete. Bring originals and photocopies of everything, and go on a weekday.

Scholarships and financial aid

Hercor publishes three categories. None of them carry a published amount, percentage or GPA threshold, so treat these as names to ask about rather than offers you can plan a budget around.

Academic, merit-based tiers:

  • With Highest Honors
  • With High Honors
  • With Honors

These are described as granted on previous academic records — high school grades, or your prior semester at Hercor.

Institutional:

  • Student Assistant Scholarship — part-time campus work in exchange for tuition reductions
  • Supreme Student Council Scholarship — for elected student government officers
  • ROTC Scholarship
  • Intern Scholarship
  • Sports Scholarship — for varsity athletes

Government, administered through the college:

  • CHED Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs)
  • Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) under UniFAST
  • Tulong Dunong Program (TDP)
  • CAPIS Scholarship, under Governor Fredenil Castro
  • UPOD KITA Scholarship Program, under Mayor Ronnie Dadivas
  • Educational Assistance Program, under the Congressmen of the 1st and 2nd Districts of Capiz

The three government CHED programs are the ones with real money behind them and published national rules — see our CHED scholarship guide for 2026-2027 for eligibility and deadlines that do not depend on the school's own page being up. The provincial and district programs are worth asking the college about directly, since local aid is often the difference between affordable and not in a provincial private college.

Hercor routes scholarship enquiries by category to separate email addresses, so ask which one applies to you when you call.

What Hercor does not publish

  • Tuition. No per-unit rate, no per-term figure, no fee schedule. The description is "competitive fees with flexible payment options."
  • The entrance exam fee.
  • Scholarship amounts or qualifying grades.
  • Board exam passing rates for criminology or education.
  • Senior high strand list.
  • Full degree titles for several programs — departments are named, awards are not always spelled out.

The school does state that it is DepEd-approved, CHED-recognised and ISO 9001 certified, and describes international practicum and OJT linkages.

Who Hercor suits

A Capiz student who wants to study at home rather than move to Iloilo, with criminology and education as the two programs that carry a licence at the end. The provincial and city scholarship pipelines are a genuine advantage if you qualify for them.

Go in expecting to do the information-gathering yourself. With the website down, the phone number is the whole channel: ask for tuition per program and year level, the entrance exam fee, the senior high strands, recent LET and criminology board results, and which scholarships you can actually stack.

Browse the Roxas City directory to see what else is nearby.
