AHEAD Alabang NMAT Review: What the Company Now Publishes

TL;DR — Our directory lists AHEAD Alabang as a face-to-face NMAT centre in Madrigal Business Park II. AHEAD's own site tells a different story: its NMAT programme page says all sessions are conducted online, and the site names only Katipunan as a location. Before you plan around an Alabang classroom, call and confirm it exists for NMAT.

AHEAD Tutorial and Review Center - Alabang is a well-regarded entry in our Muntinlupa listing, with consistently positive local feedback about its tutors and staff. It is also the clearest example in this batch of why you should check a review centre's own website before you commit.

Our national AHEAD guide covers the company: over 30 years in operation, college entrance test review, tutorials, and NMAT. This post is about the Alabang entry specifically, and about a gap between what our record says and what AHEAD currently publishes.

The discrepancy, stated plainly

Our record says: Prime Center Building, Prime corner Enterprise Streets, Madrigal Business Park II, New Alabang Village, Muntinlupa. Face-to-face. NMAT.

AHEAD's own review site, checked in early September 2026, says something narrower:

  • The NMAT programme page states that all sessions are conducted online. Not some. All.
  • The site's footer names a single location: Katipunan.
  • The FAQ says branches are "strategically located across Metro Manila and key cities nationwide", gives the main branch as 50 Esteban Abada, Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City, and tells you to contact the company for the complete list. No list is published.
  • Searching the site for Alabang, Greenhills, Taguig, Makati, Antipolo, or Baguio returns nothing.

That is not proof the Alabang branch has closed. AHEAD has run tutorial centres for decades, our record carries a working phone number and a Facebook page, and the local feedback describes a real, staffed office. But it does mean you cannot verify from AHEAD's own site that in-person NMAT review happens in Alabang, and that is exactly the thing you would be paying a premium for.

The one-sentence version: call 0917 822 9248 before you plan a commute.

What AHEAD publishes about the NMAT programme

Setting the location question aside, AHEAD's NMAT page is reasonably specific about content.

It maps the programme to the exam's actual structure, which is the right way to build NMAT review:

PartSubtests
Part I: Mental AbilityInductive reasoning, quantitative reasoning, perceptual acuity, verbal reasoning
Part II: Academic ProficiencyBiology, chemistry, physics, social science

Programme features listed are simulated exams mirroring the actual test format, research-based materials, targeted work on weak areas, and lecturers described as honour students, academic scholars, and NMAT high scorers.

The published schedule shows two products:

ProgrammeSessionsDatesDaysTime
NMAT Regular9Nov 15 to Dec 13Saturdays and Sundays2:00 PM to 7:00 PM
NMAT Plus11Nov 15 to Dec 20Saturdays and Sundays2:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Both were marked "Enrollment Open" on a schedule dated to the 2025 cycle, so the dates will have moved. The shape is what matters: weekend-only, five hours a session, nine or eleven sessions, running roughly a month to five weeks.

That shape suits a working graduate or a fifth-year student who cannot free up weekdays. It is also short. Nine sessions is about 45 contact hours, which is a focused push rather than a rebuild of your science foundations. If your biology and chemistry are weak, the programme will not fix that in a month, and our NMAT preparation timeline sets out a more realistic runway.

The difference between Regular and Plus is two sessions. AHEAD does not say what those two sessions contain. Ask before paying the difference.

Reading the 90% claim

AHEAD's FAQ states that it "maintains a 90% passing rate, proven over 30 years with tens of thousands of students". It also says it has helped over 250,000 students into their chosen universities.

For NMAT specifically, a passing rate is a category error. NMAT does not produce a pass or fail. It produces a percentile rank, and each medical school sets its own cut-off, commonly in the 40th to 90th percentile band depending on the school. A claimed 90% figure with no stated definition, no period, and no programme breakdown is not a number you can act on. Our NMAT scores explained post covers how percentiles actually work, and NMAT guide 2026 covers the exam.

The same applies to "honour graduates from UP, Ateneo, UST, and La Salle" and "top 1% of educators". They may be accurate descriptions of the faculty. They are not evidence about your score.

The fee, and the questions to ask

AHEAD publishes no NMAT prices. What it does publish about money is the payment side: credit and debit cards, bank transfers, GCash, and over-the-counter payments are accepted, with instalment plans available for selected programmes. Refund policies are said to vary per programme and are not published.

The site carries dedicated payment gateway pages for college entrance test, senior high school, and junior high school programmes. NMAT is not among them; the NMAT page routes you to an inquiry form instead, which suggests NMAT is quoted rather than sold off the shelf.

When you contact AHEAD on 0917 822 9248 or through [email protected], ask:

  1. Is there an Alabang location running NMAT, and is any part of the programme in person there?
  2. The fee for NMAT Regular and for NMAT Plus, separately.
  3. What the two extra Plus sessions cover.
  4. How many simulated exams are included, and whether they are timed and scored against a percentile.
  5. The refund and deferral terms in writing, since AHEAD says these vary by programme.
  6. The current cycle dates, since the published schedule is out of date.

Our review centre cost guide gives the general range for Philippine review programmes. For NMAT specifically, the fee should be weighed against the NMAT registration fee itself, covered in our NMAT registration guide.

What the local feedback does and does not tell you

The public feedback on the Alabang office is warm and specific: competent tutors, a hands-on branch manager named by reviewers, friendly staff, comfortable facilities, and plenty of material for college entrance tests. One reviewer notes it is the only place in the building selling snacks, drinks, and phone load.

That is worth something. It describes a functioning, well-run office where people were treated properly, and it is more useful than a star rating.

But read what it is actually about. The comments describe tutorials and college entrance test review, which is AHEAD's core business. None of them describe NMAT review at that branch. A parent praising the tutors who prepared their child for the UPCAT is not evidence about a weekend NMAT programme aimed at graduates.

This is a general trap with multi-programme centres. The reputation is earned by the flagship product and then borrowed by everything else on the menu. If NMAT is what you need, ask specifically about NMAT: who teaches it, how many cycles they have run it, and whether anyone at the Alabang office is involved at all now that the sessions are online.

If online is the reality, the calculation changes

This is the part that matters most. If AHEAD's NMAT review is genuinely online-only, then the Alabang address is a business office rather than a classroom you would attend, and location stops being a reason to choose AHEAD at all.

That reframes the comparison. You are no longer choosing between AHEAD Alabang and a centre in Manila; you are choosing between AHEAD's online NMAT programme and every other online NMAT programme in the country. Our best NMAT review centres roundup covers the field, and online versus classroom review covers the trade-off honestly.

If you specifically want an in-person NMAT class in the south of Metro Manila, MSA Academic Advancement Institute - Alabang is the other NMAT entry in our Muntinlupa listing and is worth calling in the same afternoon.

Who AHEAD suits

AHEAD's strength is longevity and its entrance-exam pedigree. For UPCAT, ACET, DCAT, and USTET it is one of the oldest names in the market, and its NMAT programme is a natural extension of the same test-technique approach. If you want structured weekend sessions, simulated exams, and instructors who have scored well on the test themselves, the offer is coherent.

Where it is weak, on its own published evidence, is transparency about location and price. Neither is fatal. Both are things you should resolve on a phone call before you transfer money, and neither should be resolved by assuming that a directory listing, ours included, reflects what the company is running this month.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does AHEAD still have an Alabang branch?

We cannot confirm it from AHEAD's own site. AHEAD's current review site names Katipunan in its footer and does not publish a branch list; its FAQ says branches are located across Metro Manila and key cities and directs you to contact the company for the full list. Our record has the Alabang address at Prime Center Building in Madrigal Business Park II. Call before travelling.

Is AHEAD's NMAT review online or face-to-face?

AHEAD's NMAT programme page states plainly that all sessions are conducted online. That is a meaningful difference from our record, which flags the Alabang entry as face-to-face. If in-person NMAT review is what you want, confirm with AHEAD whether any onsite option exists at all before enrolling.

How much does AHEAD's NMAT review cost?

AHEAD does not publish prices for its NMAT programmes. Its FAQ says payment is accepted by credit or debit card, bank transfer, GCash, and over-the-counter, with instalments available for selected programmes, but no figures appear anywhere. Ask for the fee for the specific programme, and whether NMAT Regular and NMAT Plus are priced differently.

What is the difference between NMAT Regular and NMAT Plus?

Session count. On the schedule AHEAD published, NMAT Regular ran nine sessions and NMAT Plus ran eleven, both on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with Plus finishing a week later. AHEAD does not publish what the two extra sessions cover, so ask before paying the difference.

What does AHEAD's NMAT review cover?

AHEAD frames the programme around the exam's own two parts. Part I, Mental Ability, covers inductive reasoning, quantitative reasoning, perceptual acuity, and verbal reasoning. Part II, Academic Proficiency, covers biology, chemistry, physics, and social science. It also includes simulated exams designed to mirror the real test format.

Is AHEAD's 90% passing rate claim reliable?

It is AHEAD's own claim, stated in its FAQ as a rate maintained over 30 years, with no definition of what counts as passing, which programmes are included, or what period it covers. NMAT has no pass mark in the usual sense; it produces a percentile rank, and each medical school sets its own cut-off. Treat the figure as marketing rather than a measurement.

How do I enrol with AHEAD?

AHEAD says you can enrol online through review.ahead.edu.ph or at any of its branches, with online enrolment available at any time. Its site carries an enrolment form, an inquiry form, and separate payment gateway pages for college entrance test, senior high school, and junior high school programmes. For NMAT, the site routes you to an inquiry rather than a direct checkout.

What else is there for NMAT review near Alabang?

Our Muntinlupa listing also carries MSA Academic Advancement Institute in Alabang, which covers NMAT, and a CBRC branch covering LET and criminology. For a wider view, our roundups of NMAT review centres nationally and in Cebu cover the main providers.
