Stella Maris College
Stella Maris College, Inc. is a private Catholic school in Cubao, Quezon City, run by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM), a religious congregation founded in India in 1877. Twelve FMM sisters arrived in the Philippines in 1912 to establish schools, and Stella Maris College's cornerstone was laid on August 15, 1954; it officially opened on June 13, 1955 with more than 900 students, initially offering Elementary, High School, and College education. A dedicated college building opened in 1968, but the College Department was phased out in 1975, and the building became home to the Lumen Christi Catechetical Center; the school has not offered tertiary programs since. In 2011 it adopted the Central Visayan Institute Foundation's Dynamic Learning Program (CVIF-DLP), a student-centered, activity-based instructional approach, starting with its high school unit. The school celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2015 with the opening of a new Senior High School building. Stella Maris College today offers Preschool, Elementary, Junior High School, and Senior High School under the DepEd K-12 curriculum.
