St. Michael's College

St. Michael's College of Iligan, Inc. (SMCII) is a private Catholic school in Iligan City administered by the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) Sisters. Its roots trace to 1914, when Jesuit Fathers opened a catechetical school for boys; the RVM Sisters arrived in 1915 and formally established Escuela de San Miguel for girls. The school became coeducational over time and was renamed St. Michael's College of Iligan, Inc. in 1952. It is recognized as the oldest Catholic institution in Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur and the only Catholic school offering higher education in Iligan City. SMC offers Kinder, Grade School, Junior High School, Senior High School, and college programs through its College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, College of Business Administration and Accountancy, College of Nursing, College of Engineering, College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, College of Computer Studies, and College of Criminology, plus a Graduate School offering a Master of Arts in Education and an MBA. The school holds PAASCU accreditation, including Level III status for several programs. Facilities include a library building completed in 2020 and a hotel laboratory supporting its hospitality program.
