Sacred Heart School - Ateneo de Cebu

Sacred Heart School - Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) is a private, Catholic, Jesuit-run Chinese-Filipino basic education school in Mandaue City, Cebu. It was founded in 1955 after the Cebu Chinese Catholic Association asked the Society of Jesus to open a Catholic school for the local Chinese community, with Fr. Francisco Heras, S.J. as its first rector. In 1965 the school was approved by the Bureau of Private Schools as a Filipino school following the regular government curriculum alongside a Chinese Language and Arts program. SHS-AdC now offers Grade School, Junior High School, and Senior High School under the DepEd K-12 curriculum, with the Senior High program organized into Jesuit-designed pathways covering communication and civic leadership, entrepreneurship and data science, global business, and health and biological sciences. The school holds PAASCU Level I accreditation. Campus facilities include the Magis Eagles Arena, a multi-purpose gymnasium, and a Learning Resource Center. SHS-AdC runs a scholarship program described as providing financial assistance to underprivileged but deserving students pursuing a quality education.
