Pangasinan State University-San Carlos City Campus

Pangasinan State University was created by Presidential Decree No. 1497, signed on 11 June 1978, which brought the collegiate programmes of several state-funded institutions across the province into a single university. It became operational on 1 July 1979. The San Carlos City campus entered that system as the Speaker Eugenio Perez National Agricultural School, named for the Pangasinan congressman who served as Speaker of the House of Representatives. As with most of the institutions folded into the university in 1978, it was the collegiate programmes that were integrated rather than the school as a whole, with the secondary and vocational levels remaining under the education department. The agricultural school origin continues to inform the campus's programme mix, which retains offerings in agriculture alongside broader degrees. San Carlos City lies in the central plain of Pangasinan, and the campus serves a largely agricultural catchment across the southern and central parts of the province.
