Pangasinan State University-Binmaley Campus

The Binmaley campus is the fisheries unit of Pangasinan State University, and its history reflects that from the start. It was established as the Binmaley School of Fisheries under Republic Act No. 685, became the Pangasinan College of Fisheries in 1969, and was brought into the university in 1979 under Presidential Decree No. 1497. As with the other institutions absorbed at that point, it was the collegiate programme of the Pangasinan College of Fisheries that was integrated, which also ended direct supervision by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports over that part of its work. Binmaley sits on the Lingayen Gulf coast between Lingayen and Dagupan, and the fisheries and aquatic sciences focus that gave the campus its name remains its distinguishing specialisation within the university system. Binmaley is one of nine component campuses of the university. It occupies roughly 3.8 hectares in Barangay San Isidro Norte, about ten kilometres from Dagupan City and five from the provincial capital at Lingayen, which places it within reach of both the coastal fishing communities it serves and the province's main urban centres.
