Pangasinan State University-Bayambang Campus

The Bayambang campus holds the oldest lineage in the Pangasinan State University system. It began in 1922 as the Bayambang Normal School, later becoming the Central Luzon Teachers College. When Presidential Decree No. 1497 created the university in 1978, Central Luzon Teachers College was one of only two institutions integrated whole rather than having only their collegiate programmes absorbed, the other being the Western Pangasinan College of Agriculture. That inheritance still defines the campus, which remains the system's principal centre for teacher education. The wider university has drawn a series of external recognitions in recent years, including ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2016 and an Investors in People Gold award in November 2021. Those are university-level distinctions rather than campus-specific ones, and are worth reading as such. At campus level the teacher education programme has been certified a Center of Excellence, with the elementary and secondary education degrees recognised at Level IV Phase 2 and the nursing programme holding Level 3 AACCUP accreditation. The university reports Level 2 institutional accreditation and is among a minority of state institutions holding Level IV status.
