Isabela State University, Cauayan

Isabela State University's Cauayan campus is part of a state university system established on 10 June 1978 through Presidential Decree No. 1434, which merged the Isabela State College of Agriculture at Echague with the Cagayan Valley Institute of Technology at Cabagan and absorbed the college programmes of several other institutions in the province. The Cauayan campus itself entered the system later and by a different route. It began as the Cauayan Polytechnic College, and was folded into the university under CHED Memorandum Order No. 18, series of 1999, which set the guidelines for integrating CHED-Supervised Institutions into state universities and colleges. It was the first such institution absorbed by Isabela State University. The university holds SUC Level IV status, the highest tier in the classification applied to state universities and colleges, and in 2012 the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines recognised it as the state university with the most accredited programmes in the country. CHED currently lists 36 recognised programmes at this campus, spanning education, business, engineering, agriculture and the sciences.
