Isabela State University, Angadanan

Isabela State University was established by Presidential Decree No. 1434 on 10 June 1978. A second wave of expansion came in 2002, when three CHED-Supervised Institutions were integrated into the system: the Roxas Memorial Agricultural and Industrial School at Roxas, the Delfin Albano Memorial Institute of Agriculture and Technology at San Mariano, and the Angadanan Agro-Industrial College at Angadanan. The Angadanan campus has the longest history of the three. It opened as Angadanan Junior High School on 14 August 1946, and was renamed Angadanan High School a year later. By 1975, operating as Angadanan Vocational High School, it had begun offering post-secondary work through a two-year ladderised curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education. It later became the Angadanan Agro-Industrial College, the name under which it was integrated into the university in 2002. That progression from municipal high school to vocational school to agro-industrial college is a common shape for provincial institutions of its generation.
