Holy Rosary Minor Seminary
Holy Rosary Minor Seminary, also known as the Seminario Conciliar de Caceres, was established in 1785 by Bishop Juan Antonio Órbigo, O.F.M., making it Southern Luzon's oldest ecclesiastical and civil higher-education institution. It operates under the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Caceres, adjacent to Naga Metropolitan Cathedral on Elias Angeles Street, Naga City. The seminary offers junior high and senior high school formation for students discerning the priesthood, and is recognized by CEAP (Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines) and PEAC (Philippine Educational Accrediting Council). Its Spanish-era building was declared a National Historical Landmark on June 11, 1978, and it has produced around 22 bishops, including the Philippines' first Filipino cardinal, Jose Cardinal Sanchez, and first Filipino bishop, Jorge Barlin. The adjoining Museo del Seminario Conciliar de Nueva Caceres is open to visitors.
