The Cagayan State University (CSU) is the largest state institution of higher learning in the Cagayan Valley Region, in terms of enrollment and number of curricular program offerings. The University was established through Presidential Decree 1436, later amended by Republic Act 8292 by the integration of all publicly supported higher education institutions in the province of Cagayan. The university is composed of eight (8) campuses in the growth areas in the three congressional districts of Cagayan; the Aparri, Lal-Lo and Gonzaga campuses in the 1st District; the Piat, Lasam and Sanchez-Mira campuses in the 2nd District; and in the 3rd District, the Andrews and Carig campuses in Tuguegarao City. Each campus is headed by an Executive Officer (CEO). Dr. Theresa Dimalanta is the CEO of Andrews Campus. The seat of governance of the university is at the Andrews Campus, where the central administration holds office. The university offers courses in liberal arts, social sciences, law, medicine and allied professions, business and economics, natural sciences, engineering, technology, agriculture and fisheries and teaching, among others. It offers the most graduate and undergraduate courses of all the universities in the province of Cagayan. #LVPMoment✔️

It's fine but the road doesn't really good

The worst college of medicine. They only admit the smartest students to compensate for their incompetent teaching strategy so they will not perform poorly in the physician licensure examinations. If you're not a brilliant student don't enroll here. Diligence is not enough and the student will have to do the majority of the teaching through self studying/reporting in front of class. Their facilities are poor because they are not receiving enough budget. They keep on insisting to only admit a limited number of the best students but that's what makes them poor because they are not generating enough income to improve their facilities and hire more competent professors. Some professors also act like the students are not allowed to complain about their way of teaching because according to them they are not paid that much to do the job so the students should always be grateful that they are attending class even if they are only reading the book to the students. Sometimes the lecture is only a summary of the chapter in the book but the questions in the exam are so much more complex than what was taught in the lecture. Sometimes the professors don't make their own exam, they just copy and paste questions from USMLE or INDIABIX or other review questions online. Long story short most of the time they create exams that are way out of the scope of their lecture so usually students get low grades. There are no quizzes so the exams make up the bulk of your grade. The schedule of examinations are all over the place and is so unorganized. Sometimes it's already midterms but you're still about to take a prelim exam for a subject. The laboratory sessions are a JOKE. Grades are not released on time. I only see my grades before every enrollment because the professors are busy with the hospital work because they are not full time teachers. They also don't return your test papers because they will reuse the exams for the next batch (your juniors) so you won't see how well you did in the exams. Sometimes the instructors will not show up to class because they are busy working even if you are already waiting in class for the lecture or exam and there won't be any substitute professor to take over. If you want to study medicine but your family is not well off there are better state universities that you can go to like UNP or MMSU and it will be SO MUCH MORE WORTH IT. Make no mistake and don't choose CSU. Even if you think you are smart enough to study in CSU with all your excellent credentials, you will end up either suffering from depression, failing a subject, transferring to another school, or giving up medicine. Don't waste your time and money
