Bacolod Tay Tung High School
Bacolod Tay Tung High School, Inc. (描戈律大同中学) is a private Chinese-Filipino school in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, established in 1934 by the Kuo-Min-Tang (Bacolod Chapter), the Negros Occidental Chamber of Commerce, and the Fil-Sino Organization to give Chinese-Filipino children both an English-based curriculum and instruction in Chinese language and culture. The school opened with 17 students under its first principal, Uy Kong Han, and moved to its present two-hectare site on Libertad Street in 1951. High school offerings were added in 1950, and the school marked its Golden Anniversary in 1984. Today it offers Junior High School and Senior High School under the DepEd K-12 curriculum, with Senior High School tracks in STEM, ABM, and HUMSS. The school received initial accreditation from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) in November 2018. It is also a PEAC-certified GASTPE participating school, meaning qualified Grade 7 students may receive government Education Service Contracting (ESC) subsidies through Senior High School.
