University of Makati publishes two lists, and they do not match. The Program Offerings page carries the marketing view of the curriculum. The College Admission Requirements table carries the operational view, with a per-programme GWA cut-off, a required senior high school track, and subject-grade floors. The admission table is the one that decides whether your application survives.
Below is what UMak publishes on both, where they diverge, and how the tuition and token scheme works. Address, contacts and level flags sit on the University of Makati profile.
Undergraduate programmes by college and institute
This is the Program Offerings page as UMak published it, dated 29 July 2026 on the page itself.
College of Business Administration (CBA)
- BS Office Administration
- BS Entrepreneurial Management
- BS Business Administration major in Marketing Management
- BS Business Administration major in Human Resource Development Management
- BS Business Administration major in Supply Management
- BS Business Administration major in Building and Property Management
- Associate in Sales Management, Office Management Technology, Entrepreneurship, Supply Management, and Building and Property Management
The BS Office Administration guide covers what that degree leads to and where it differs from a business administration major.
Institute of Accountancy (IOA)
- BS Accountancy
- BS Management Accounting
College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS)
- BS Computer Science, application development elective track
- BS Information Technology, information and network security elective track

College of Engineering and Technology (CET)
The page notes this college was formerly CTM and CCSE.
- BS Civil Engineering, construction engineering and management
- BS Engineering Technology major in Electrical Technology
- BS Engineering Technology major in Electronics Technology
- Diploma in Electrical Technology, Diploma in Industrial Facilities Technology, and Diploma in Industrial Facilities Technology major in Service Mechanics
- Associate in Electronics Technology
Civil engineering is the one board-track engineering degree here. The rest are engineering technology, which is a different CHED programme family and does not lead to the same Professional Regulation Commission licensure route. If you are aiming at a licence, read the BS Civil Engineering guide and ask the college directly how each technology programme maps to PRC eligibility before you enrol.
Institute of Nursing, Pharmacy, and Imaging Health Sciences
- Institute of Nursing: BS Nursing, and Master of Arts in Nursing
- Institute of Pharmacy: BS Pharmacy, and Associate in Applied Science in Pharmacy Technology
- Institute of Imaging Health Science: BS Radiologic Technology, and MS Radiologic Technology
These three carry the tightest entry requirements on the whole admission table. See the BS Nursing guide and the BS Pharmacy guide for what the board exams behind them involve.
College of Innovative Teacher Education (CITE)
- Bachelor of Elementary Education
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, Mathematics, or Social Studies
College of Science, Institute of Psychology (IOPsy)
- BS Psychology
UMak's page labels this unit inconsistently, giving both College of Science and Institute of Psychology on the same block. Our BS Psychology guide explains what the degree does and does not qualify you for.
College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM)
- BS Hospitality Management
- BS Tourism Management
- Associate in Hospitality Management
College of Governance and Public Policy (CGPP)
- BA Political Science major in Paralegal Studies
- BA Political Science major in Policy Management

Graduate and executive programmes
The College of Continuing, Advanced and Professional Studies runs the executive undergraduate track and the entire graduate offering: certificates in Barangay Governance and in Katarungang Pambarangay and Alternative Dispute Resolution, a Diploma in Development Management and Governance, master's degrees in education, innovative education, special education, nursing, business administration, development management and governance, public administration and radiologic technology, and doctorates in education, special education, leadership, public administration and an executive doctorate in leadership.
Where the two UMak lists disagree
This matters more than it sounds. Four programmes appear on the admission requirements table but not in the same form on the Program Offerings page:
- BS Information Systems under CCIS, with its own GWA and subject-grade requirements
- Diploma in Emergency Medical Services leading to BS Paramedicine under the Institute for Disaster and Emergency Management
- BA Communication under the Institute of Arts and Design
- BS Business Administration major in Financial Management under the business college
The admission table also still uses the older unit names College of Business and Financial Science and College of Construction Sciences and Engineering, while the offerings page has moved to College of Business Administration and folded CCSE into the College of Engineering and Technology. The offerings page itself carries both a standalone CCSE block and a CET block, which is how you can tell the merge is mid-flight. UMak posted a site-wide notice in June 2026 saying it was updating content across college, institute, centre and office pages and that information may change during the period.
Practical reading: if a programme appears on the admission requirements table with a live GWA cut-off, it is being admitted into. Confirm with the Center for Admission and Scholarship rather than choosing from one page alone.
The admission table is the real gate
UMak's College Admission Requirements page publishes 36 rows for AY 2026-2027, each with four things: the UMak examination rating band accepted, the GWA and subject-grade requirement, the requirements for transferees and shifters, and the requirements for second coursers. The page carried a timestamp of 7 August 2026 when checked.
A few published cut-offs, to show how wide the range is:
| Programme | Published GWA requirement |
|---|---|
| BS Nursing | 92 per cent and above, STEM track, no grade below 90 in English, Mathematics and Science |
| BS Radiologic Technology | 90 per cent and above, STEM track, no grade below 88 in English, Mathematics and Science |
| BS Pharmacy | 90 per cent and above, STEM track, no grade below 88 in English, Mathematics and Science |
| BS Accountancy and BS Management Accounting | 90 per cent and above, no grade below 85 in English, Mathematics and Science, any track |
| BS Computer Science and BS Information Technology | 85 per cent and above, no grade below 85 in Mathematics and 83 in English, preferably STEM or ICT |
| BS Civil Engineering | 85 per cent and above for STEM, no grade below 85 in English, Mathematics and Science |
| BS Tourism and BS Hospitality Management | 87 per cent and above, preferred strands ABM, STEM or HUMSS |
| BS Exercise and Sports Science | 82 per cent and above, any track |
| Diploma in Industrial Facilities Technology | 75 per cent and above, any track |
Read the whole row, not the GWA. BS Psychology, for example, adds a psychological test assessment at new admission, transfer and second-course stages. Multimedia arts adds a skills test and portfolio. Several programmes state "no incoming third or fourth year" for transferees, and UMak repeats at the policy level that it does not accept incoming third-year transferees at all.
The entrance test, the fee and the calendar
UMak states that all freshmen applicants take the University of Makati College Entrance Test provided by the Center for Educational Management, covering English, Mathematics and Science over two hours, with a personality test added on request of specific colleges.
The published procedure is: register online through the UMak online college application portal, answer the captcha and submit, verify by email, receive a pre-filled application form and a document-verification date, bring complete original documents to the Center for Admission and Scholarship, and pay the testing fee of PHP 500.00 at the UMak Cooperative on the 10th floor of the HPSB building.
For AY 2026-2027 UMak published a college application window of 16 February to 20 March 2026, with transfer and second-course applications from 16 to 20 March 2026. Those dates are for a cycle that has closed. UMak announces each cycle on its admissions pages, which carry their own update timestamps, so check the timestamp before trusting a date.
There is one more published condition worth planning around: if no examination is held in a given cycle, admission falls back to GWA and the other college requirements.
Documents
The published documentary list for new freshmen is the application form from the website, two recent 2x2 ID photos with a name tag on a white background, a PSA birth certificate, and report cards. Grade 12 applicants submit the Grade 11 report card; senior high school completers submit Grade 11 and Grade 12 report cards plus a certification from the previous school stating that Form 137 was not sent to any college or university.
ALS passers submit a Certificate of Rating indicating eligibility for college admission. Transferees and second-course takers submit a transcript of records and an honorable dismissal.
Makati residents who are not students or graduates of a Makati public senior high school have an extra requirement: the applicant's own latest voter's certification if 18 or above, or a parent's or sibling's latest voter's certification with a birth certificate if 17 or below.
Tuition, token fees and the EMBO question
UMak charges tuition of PHP 2,000 per unit for both theoretical and laboratory courses, set by Makati City Ordinance No. 2024-108 and effective from the first semester of AY 2024-2025. The university states plainly that this is an increase, and that the City Government of Makati offsets it through the Proud Makatizen Scholarship so that eligible students pay a token instead.
The token scheme changed with the same ordinance. It used to be set by residency. It is now set by the previous semester's general weighted average:
| Tier | Semestral GWA | Token |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1.00 to 1.49 | Exempted |
| 2 | 1.50 to 1.74 | PHP 1,000 |
| 3 | 1.75 to 2.24 | PHP 3,000 |
| 4 | 2.25 to 2.74 | PHP 5,000 |
| 5 | 2.75 to 3.00 | Full tuition at PHP 2,000 per unit |
Tiers 1 and 2 carry conditions: a regular study load, no grade below 2.00 in academic courses, no failing grade, no officially or unofficially dropped course, and NSTP and PE grades no lower than 2.50. Incomplete grades in Tier 2 must be completed before enrolment ends so the GWA can be recomputed. Students who started before AY 2024-2025 stay on the old residency-based token scheme until they graduate.
Two consequences students miss. First, a bad semester costs money, not just standing: falling to a GWA between 2.75 and 3.00 puts you on the full per-unit rate for the next semester. Second, the token is waivable through achievement, special and external scholarships, and student-athletes and student-artists can apply for exemption.
On residency, UMak's campus is on J.P. Rizal Extension in West Rembo, one of the EMBO barangays reclassified into Taguig City. UMak's FAQ records that students from those barangays were allowed to keep their existing benefits and began paying the new token rate from AY 2024-2025. Non-Makati applicants, including EMBO residents, can still be enlisted as pre-qualifiers regardless of GWA, but the general policy line remains that non-Makati applicants should have a GWA of 90 or better.
If you are weighing UMak against the other locally funded universities in the region, free city universities in Metro Manila sets out how the residency and subsidy rules differ across cities.
