Universidad de Dagupan publishes 24 undergraduate degrees and five graduate programs across eight schools. Eleven of the undergraduate degrees end at a Professional Regulation Commission licensure exam. The university publishes no tuition figures at all, and its Senior High School listing is still a placeholder.
Universidad de Dagupan is the Pangasinan school most people still call Colegio de Dagupan. It started in 1984 as Computronix College, a computer and electronics training centre, became a college in 1992, and was elevated to university status in 2022. The name change is recent enough that the university's own site keeps "Formerly Colegio de Dagupan" under the logo on every page.
Basic facts, address, phone and level flags sit on the Universidad de Dagupan profile. This page covers the part a listing cannot: what the university actually teaches, what each degree leads to, and which questions its website leaves open.
The nine schools and what each one offers
UdD organises its programs into schools rather than colleges. Here is the full list as published on its Academic Programs page.
School of Information Technology
- BS Computer Science major in Data Science
- BS Information Technology major in Web Development
- BS Information Technology major in Multimedia Arts
- BS Information Technology major in Infrastructure with Cybersecurity
- ETEEAP (listed on the page as "ETEAAP")
The IT school is the oldest part of the institution and the majors are unusually specific. Most schools offer plain BSIT; UdD splits it three ways at entry. That is worth asking about, because a declared major on your transcript narrows what you can pivot to later. The BS Computer Science guide covers what the degree does and does not qualify you for.
School of Engineering
- BS Civil Engineering
- BS Computer Engineering
- BS Electrical Engineering
- BS Electronic Engineering
All four are board-track engineering degrees. Note what is missing: the school's own history mentions an Aeronautics school from the 1990s, and our directory record carries Aeronautical Engineering, but the current programs page does not list it. Treat aeronautics as discontinued unless the registrar says otherwise.
School of Teacher Education
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
- Bachelor of Elementary Education
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Filipino
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science
- Bachelor of Special Needs Education: Generalist
Seven teacher education degrees is a large offering for a school this size, and all seven route to the Licensure Examination for Teachers. See teacher education courses in the Philippines for how the majors differ in practice.
School of Business and Accountancy
- BS Accountancy
- BS Business Administration major in Financial Management
- BS Business Administration major in Marketing Management
- ETEEAP
School of International Hospitality Management
- BS Tourism Management
- BS Hospitality Management
School of Humanities
- AB Communication
- BS Psychology
School of Health and Sciences
- BS Nursing
School of Criminology
- BS Criminology
School of Professional Studies (graduate)
- Master in Information Technology
- Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management
- Master of Business Administration
- Doctor of Business Administration
- PhD in Educational Leadership and Management
School of Basic Education — the programs page lists this unit with the line "Course details coming soon." No Senior High School strands are published. If you are looking at UdD for Grades 11 and 12, you have to phone.
Which degrees end at a licensure exam
This is the split that matters most when you choose, because a board-track degree carries a second hurdle after graduation that a non-board degree does not.
| Degree | Licensure exam |
|---|---|
| BS Accountancy | CPA Licensure Exam (CPALE) |
| BS Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronic Engineering | PRC board for each discipline |
| All seven teacher education degrees | Licensure Examination for Teachers |
| BS Nursing | Nurse Licensure Examination |
| BS Criminology | Criminologist Licensure Exam |
| BS Psychology | Psychometrician board (BLEPP) |
| BS Computer Science, BSIT, AB Communication, BS Tourism, BS Hospitality | None |
Eleven of the 24 undergraduate programs sit in the first group. If you are weighing a board course against a non-board one, board exam passing rates by course shows how wide the national spread is before you factor in any single school.
What the Topnotchers page does and does not tell you
UdD publishes a Board Topnotchers page with 19 named placements running from 2008 to 2026: a first place in the May 2026 teachers' board, a third in electrical engineering in 2025, a fourth in electronics technician in 2024, a tenth in the CPA board in 2024, and a run of electronics engineering placements through the 2010s.
That page is a genuine signal about the engineering and accountancy programs specifically. It is not a passing rate. One student topping an exam says nothing about what happened to the other forty in the batch. UdD does not publish institutional passing rates anywhere, so if you care about a specific program, ask its dean for first-taker passing rates over the last three sittings and compare against the national average for the same period.
How enrolment works
The enrolment page lists five documents and four steps.
Requirements: Form 137, Form 138, Certificate of Good Moral Character, PSA birth certificate, and for transferees an official transcript of records copy for UdD.
Steps: enlistment (submit requirements, start the forms), admissions (settle admission and initial tuition fees), scheduling (get subjects scheduled and register), identification (photo and school ID).
There is no entrance exam anywhere in that sequence, and the page does not mention one. That is worth verifying rather than assuming, because an unadvertised qualifying test for a competitive program like Nursing or Accountancy is common enough. Most Philippine HEIs also want a PSA birth certificate and ID photos on top of that list, so bring them.
Tuition is not published
UdD publishes no tuition figures. There is no fee schedule, no per-unit rate, no downloadable assessment, and no "estimated cost" page. Step two of enrolment says you settle the required admission and initial tuition fees without ever saying what they are.
Do not accept a figure from a third-party directory for this school. Phone the admissions office and ask for a written assessment for the specific program and year level, and ask three follow-ups while you have someone on the line: whether the quoted figure is per semester or per year, what is bundled into miscellaneous fees, and whether there is an instalment scheme and what it adds.
Contacts published on the site are (075) 523-2000, (075) 523-3000, and +639452849061, office hours 8am to 5pm, at Arellano St., Pantal, Dagupan City. Our directory record carries an older number, (075) 522 2405, and [email protected]. Try the site numbers first.
The infrastructure around the degrees
Worth knowing before you compare UdD against a state university, because the administrative side is where small private schools usually differ.
UdD runs four separate online systems and links all of them from its header: the UdD Portal for student records, STEP LMS for coursework, an e-Thesis repository, and an online Document Request service. A working document request system matters more than it sounds. Transcripts and certifications are the thing you will need years after you graduate, usually urgently, and a school with an online request route saves you a trip to Dagupan.
The university describes itself as the first ISO 21001:2018-certified university in Region 1. ISO 21001 is a management system standard for educational organisations. It is a process certification, not an academic ranking, and it says nothing about the quality of any particular programme. Treat it the way you would treat a company's ISO 9001 badge.
Its CHED full autonomous status, granted in 2012 when it was still Colegio de Dagupan, carries more weight. Autonomy means CHED has stepped back from routine monitoring and the institution can open programmes without the usual prior approval cycle. Our guide to CHED-accredited schools explains how autonomy, deregulation and programme accreditation differ, since the three get used interchangeably in marketing.
Who this university suits
UdD makes most sense if you want an engineering, accountancy or teacher education degree without leaving Pangasinan, and you want a private school with CHED full autonomous status rather than a state university. Its licensure track record, so far as it is public, clusters in electronics engineering, electrical engineering and accountancy.
It makes less sense if you need a published cost before you commit, or if you are shopping for Senior High School, where the university has put nothing online at all. For a wider look at what else is available locally, see the schools in Dagupan listings.
