TL;DR: The Technological Institute of the Philippines currently publishes its programmes in six groups: Engineering, Architecture, Computer Studies, Business Education, Education and Arts. The two campuses overlap heavily but are not identical. Chemical Engineering and Entertainment and Multimedia Computing are Manila-only; Environmental and Sanitary Engineering, BS Mathematics and the teacher education programmes are Quezon City-only. Maritime programmes, which TIP was once known for, no longer appear on its programme pages.
Most course lists for TIP circulating online are copied from directories that were last accurate several years ago. This one is built from the school's own programme pages, grouped the way the school groups them, with the campus differences called out because that is the detail that changes an application.
The Two Campuses
TIP operates in Manila and Quezon City, with the Manila campus occupying two addresses in Quiapo.
| Campus | Address |
|---|---|
| T.I.P. Manila | 363 P. Casal St., Quiapo, and 1338 Arlegui St., Quiapo, Manila |
| T.I.P. Quezon City | 938 Aurora Boulevard, Cubao, Quezon City |
Applying to "TIP" is not a single decision. You are applying to a campus, and the programme has to exist there.
Engineering
The largest group, and the one the school is best known for.
| Programme | Manila | Quezon City |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical Engineering | Yes | - |
| Civil Engineering | Yes | Yes |
| Computer Engineering | Yes | Yes |
| Electrical Engineering | Yes | Yes |
| Electronics Engineering | Yes | Yes |
| Environmental and Sanitary Engineering | - | Yes |
| Industrial Engineering | Yes | Yes |
| Mechanical Engineering | Yes | Yes |
| BS Mathematics | - | Yes |
BS Mathematics sits inside the engineering group on TIP's own pages rather than in a separate science college, which is worth noting if you are searching for it under the wrong heading.
If you are still deciding between these, our engineering courses list compares what each discipline actually involves, and the strand for engineering guide covers what senior high preparation each one expects.
Architecture
Architecture is offered at both Manila and Quezon City. It is the only programme in its group.
Computer Studies
| Programme | Manila | Quezon City |
|---|---|---|
| Computer Science | Yes | Yes |
| Data Science and Analytics | Yes | Yes |
| Entertainment and Multimedia Computing | Yes | - |
| Information Systems | Yes | Yes |
| Information Technology | Yes | Yes |
Entertainment and Multimedia Computing is the one to watch here: it is the programme most often assumed to be available on both campuses and it is not. Our roundup of IT schools in the Philippines puts TIP's computing offer next to its peers.
Business Education
Both campuses run the same six programmes:
- Accountancy
- Accounting Information Systems
- Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Financial Management
- Human Resource Management
- Marketing Management
The Quezon City campus additionally lists a Master in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Accountancy and Accounting Information Systems are different degrees with different career endpoints, a distinction our accountancy versus accounting technology guide unpacks.
Education and Arts
Teacher education is listed only at Quezon City:
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Sciences
- Bachelor of Special Needs Education
- Teaching Certificate Program, listed as a supplementary programme
The Arts group runs on both campuses and contains two programmes: BA English Language and BA Political Science.
Graduate Programmes
The graduate menu is concentrated in engineering and computing, and it differs by campus.
Manila. Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering; a Professional Science Master's in Engineering Management; PhD in Computer Science; Doctor of Information Technology; Master in Information Technology; Master of Science in Computer Science; Master in Information Systems; and a Professional Science Master's in Data Science.
Quezon City. Doctor of Engineering with specialisation in Computer Engineering; Master of Engineering with specialisations in Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering; Professional Science Master's degrees in Construction Management and in Engineering Management; Doctor in Information Technology; Master in Information Systems; Master in Information Technology; Master of Science in Computer Science; a Professional Science Master's in Data Science; and the Master in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
What Is No Longer There
TIP was for decades a maritime school as well as an engineering one. Maritime programmes do not appear in its current programme pages. Industry press reported in 2020 that the school had decided to phase them out voluntarily, citing shifting CHED and MARINA requirements, with the phase-out working by closing first-year admission while existing cadets completed their shipboard training and graduated.
That matters beyond maritime applicants. It is an illustrative case of why third-party course directories are unreliable: several still list BS Marine Transportation and BS Marine Engineering at TIP years after new intake stopped. If a course list does not say when it was compiled or where it came from, treat it as a starting point for questions rather than an answer.
Accreditation, and How to Check It
TIP is commonly described as one of the private Metro Manila schools whose engineering and computing programmes hold ABET accreditation. Accreditation is granted per programme and per campus, and it can lapse or be renewed on cycles that do not match the school year, so the only reliable check is the accrediting body's own list rather than a school brochure or a directory. ABET publishes a searchable list of accredited programmes; use it, and note the campus, before treating accreditation as a reason to choose one school over another.
Two boundaries are also worth keeping straight. TIP's degree programmes are supervised by the Commission on Higher Education. Its senior high school is basic education and therefore sits under DepEd rules, including the assessment and grading guidelines now in force under DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026. The same institution answers to two different regulators for two different parts of what it does.
Before You Apply
Three checks, in order:
- Confirm the programme exists at the campus you want. Six programmes in the current list run at only one campus.
- Confirm a section is opening. A listed programme is not the same as a programme with an incoming cohort this term.
- Get the fee assessment in writing from the registrar. Our TIP tuition guide covers the published fee bands, but only the registrar's assessment is binding.
Disclaimer: programme lists change between school years and this page reflects what TIP published at the time of writing, not a permanent offer. We are not affiliated with TIP and cannot process applications. Confirm current offerings, campus availability and fees directly with the school's admissions and registrar offices.
