OLOPSC runs ten college degrees plus one associate programme through six institutes, all under a single College of Business, Management, Science and Education. Three of them end at a licensure exam. The school publishes unit loads and entry fees but not tuition rates.
Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College sits on Gen. Ordoñez Street in Concepcion, Marikina, and has been running since 1978. It is a full K-12-plus-college institution, which is a different proposition from a pure college: the same campus takes a child from nursery to a bachelor's degree. Address, phone and level flags are on the OLOPSC profile.
This post covers the college side, what each programme leads to, and where the school's own site is precise versus vague.
The six institutes and their programmes
Everything college-level sits under the College of Business, Management, Science and Education, abbreviated on the site as both BMSE and CBMSE. Six institutes sit under it.
Computing Studies
- BS Computer Science — 4 years, published as 150+ units
- Associate in Computer Technology — 2 years, published as 75+ units
The BSCS curriculum is published year by year, and it is a standard CHED computing sequence: programming and discrete structures in year one, data structures, databases, OOP and systems analysis in year two, software engineering, algorithms, security and HCI in year three, then thesis, operating systems and enterprise architecture in year four, with a 162-hour summer practicum. The two-year ACT runs a 300-hour midyear practicum instead. See the BS Computer Science guide for what the degree qualifies you for outside this school.
Business Administration and Entrepreneurship — 4 years, 150+ units
- BSBA major in Human Resource Management
- BSBA major in Marketing Management
- BS Entrepreneurship
BSBA in HRM and BS Entrepreneurship overlap on paper and diverge sharply in practice, so ask the programme chair which one the OJT placements actually feed.
Education and Liberal Arts — 4 years, 145+ units
- Bachelor of Elementary Education
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics
- AB English
The education roadmap runs child and adolescent development and the teaching profession in year one, instructional methods and assessment in year two, curriculum and educational technology in year three, and Field Study 1 and 2 with clinical practice in year four. The site mentions an intensive LET review.
Hospitality Management — BS Hospitality Management, 4 years, 160 units, with on-site laboratory and practicum. The campus has a kitchen laboratory and an "O'Hotel" simulation room for front desk, booking and guest relations.
Tourism Management — BS Tourism Management, 4 years, 156 units, with a mock flight cabin on campus. Hospitality and tourism are separate degrees here, not one programme with two names, and the facilities show it.
Psychology — BS Psychology, 4 years, 168 units. This is the heaviest unit load of the six and the curriculum shows why: it carries a full science stack alongside the psychology core, with biology lecture and laboratory, general zoology, organic and inorganic chemistry, and anatomy and physiology, plus a practicum in year three and thesis defence in year four.
Which programmes end at a licensure exam
Three of the eleven.
| Programme | Licensure exam |
|---|---|
| Bachelor of Elementary Education | Licensure Examination for Teachers |
| Bachelor of Secondary Education (English, Mathematics) | Licensure Examination for Teachers |
| BS Psychology | Psychometrician board, named by OLOPSC as BLEPP |
| BSCS, ACT, BSBA HRM, BSBA MM, BS Entrepreneurship, AB English, BSHM, BSTM | None |
The psychology page is honest about the split in outcomes: it lists the registered psychometrician route alongside corporate HR roles and further study in medicine, law or a master's. That reflects reality. A BS Psychology alone does not make you a psychologist, and the BS Psychology guide sets out the full ladder.
What OLOPSC claims about outcomes, and how to check it
The college page publishes three headline numbers: an 85 percent board exam passing rate described as consistently above the national average, a 92 percent employment rate within six months, and a 10,000-plus alumni network across 20-plus countries.
None of those are broken down. There is no year attached, no exam named, no cohort size, and no source. An 85 percent passing rate across the two board-track programme families is a meaningful claim if true and meaningless if it aggregates first-takers and repeaters across a decade. Ask the dean of the specific institute for first-taker passing rates by sitting, and compare against board exam passing rates by course.
Senior High School has moved to track clusters
Worth flagging because most listings, including our own record, still show the older strand names. For SY 2026-2027 OLOPSC publishes five track clusters under the strengthened senior high curriculum:
- Academic: Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (ASSH); Business and Entrepreneurship (BAE); Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
- TechPro: Hospitality and Tourism (HT); Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
The TechPro cluster is described as a pipeline toward NC II certifications and direct entry into tech or hospitality work. If you are choosing between the old strand names and these clusters at another school, the academic strands guide explains the mapping.
What you pay to get in, and what is not published
OLOPSC publishes two figures precisely and no tuition rate at all.
- Application fee: PHP 500.00, non-refundable, paid at the accounting office at step two of the enrolment sequence.
- Initial down payment: PHP 3,000.00, paid at the accounting office to secure the enrolment slot, and required to activate any instalment plan.
Three payment structures are published: full payment for the semester, Plan A quarterly across down payment, prelim, midterm and finals, and Plan B monthly across six payments from June to November with a standard instalment fee included. The instalment fee amount is not stated. Neither is tuition per unit or per semester.
Do not accept a tuition figure for OLOPSC from a directory. Phone the accounting office on 0917-822-7532 or admissions on 0998-595-7592 and ask for a written assessment for your specific programme and year level.
The three scholarships, and who can actually get them
OLOPSC publishes three named scholarships. All three share the same three-part gate, and it is a narrow one.
Every applicant must have a general average of 90 percent or above in the second quarter, be a bona fide resident of Marikina City, pass the OLOPSC Scholarship Qualifying Test, and be on the honours list of their graduating class.
| Scholarship | Entry point | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Carmen Caday Salvador | Grade 12 candidates for graduation, public schools in Marikina | Free tuition and other school fees, plus PHP 2,000 a year cash incentive |
| Dionisio Alonzo Salvador, Sr. | Grade 6 candidates for graduation, public schools in Marikina | Full textbook set where applicable, uniforms every two years, PHP 2,000 a year |
| OLOPSC President's Scholarship | Grade 12 candidates for graduation, public schools in Marikina | PHP 2,000 a year cash incentive |
Two of the three route Marikina public school graduates into OLOPSC, one at Grade 7 entry and one at college entry. The Carmen Caday Salvador programme is the only one that covers tuition, and it also asks for the heaviest document set: application form, letter of intent from a parent or guardian, 2x2 white-background photo, PSA birth certificate, latest report card or SF9, good moral certificate, a certificate of second-quarter class ranking signed by the principal, and a barangay certificate of indigence.
All three are processed in person. You submit at the registrar's office, open Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Nothing is filed online. Ask whether a school-level award can be held alongside a CHED or LGU scholarship, since some institutions require you to choose one.
The enrolment sequence
Six steps, identical for freshmen and transferees apart from the documents.
- Submit documents to the registrar for screening
- Pay the PHP 500 application fee at accounting
- Initial academic advising with the programme chair
- Fee assessment and student coding at the registrar
- PHP 3,000 initial down payment at accounting
- Register at the dean's office and IT department for the student portal and ID
Freshmen bring Form 138 with LRN (or PEPT or ALS result), PSA birth certificate, good moral certificate and two 2x2 white-background photos. Graduates of non-recognised senior high schools must take the Philippine Validating Test. Transferees bring a transcript or certification of grades, transfer credentials, PSA birth certificate, NSTP certificate if applicable, and two 2x2 photos. Ask the programme chair at step three how many of your existing units will actually be credited, because that number decides how long the degree takes.
Who this college suits
OLOPSC works if you want a small, CHED-recognised private college in Marikina with hands-on facilities, and you value the K-12 continuity of staying on one campus. It works less well if you need a published tuition figure before you commit, or if you want a board-heavy programme list, since only three of eleven programmes end at a licensure exam.
For alternatives locally, see the Marikina school listings.
