Far Eastern University organises its academic offering into institutes rather than colleges, and it publishes the whole undergraduate list on one page, with the named specialisations sitting under each degree. Those specialisations are the part directory sites usually drop, and they are the part that actually changes what you study for four years.
Here is the published list, institute by institute. If you want the campus address, contacts and level flags, those are on the Far Eastern University profile.
The university institutes
FEU lists seven academic institutes: Accounts, Business, and Finance; Arts and Sciences; Architecture and Fine Arts; Education; Health Sciences and Nursing; Tourism and Hotel Management; and Law. It also runs FEU Makati under the Institute of Accounts, Business, and Finance, and extension programmes in FEU Cavite.
Undergraduate programmes by institute
Institute of Accounts, Business, and Finance
- BS Accountancy
- BS Business Administration — specialisations in Financial Management, Marketing Management, Entrepreneurial Management
- BS Business Economics
- BS Internal Auditing
- BS Human Resource and Organizational Development
BS Internal Auditing as a standalone degree is unusual; most schools treat internal audit as a track inside accountancy. If accountancy and the CPA licence are the goal, our BS Accountancy guide covers what the board actually requires.
Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts
- BS Architecture — specialisations in Building Construction, Human Settlement, Urban Design
- Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Studio Arts
- Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Visual Communication
Architecture is a five-year degree with a board exam at the end of it everywhere in the country, so the specialisation you pick does not change the licence you sit for.
Institute of Arts and Sciences
- BS Applied Mathematics — specialisations in Data Science, Information Technology, Mathematical Finance
- BS Biology — specialisations in Medical Biology, Microbiology, Systematic Biology
- BS Chemistry
- BA Communication — specialisations in Digital Film and Media Production, Multimedia Journalism, Strategic Communications
- BA Language and Literature Studies — specialisations in English Language Studies, Literature Studies and Creative Writing
- BA Interdisciplinary Studies — specialisations in Philippine Art, Culture, and Heritage, and Sustainable Urban Development
- BA International Studies — specialisations in International Relations and Diplomacy, International Development and Cooperation, Area Studies
- BA Political Science — specialisations in Philippine Politics, and Politics and Law
- BS Psychology
Institute of Education
- Bachelor of Elementary Education
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science
- Bachelor of Special Needs Education
- BS Exercise and Sports Sciences major in Fitness and Sports Management
- Bachelor of Physical Education
Note that the secondary education majors are limited to English, Mathematics and Science. If you want Filipino, Social Studies or Values Education, FEU is not where you will find it. Our BSEd guide covers the majors and the licence.
Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing
- BS Nursing
- BS Medical Technology
- BS Nutrition and Dietetics
- BS Pharmacy
All four lead to a Professional Regulation Commission board exam, which is the point of taking them at all. Our BS Nursing guide covers the licensure route for the largest of the four.
Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management
- BS Hospitality Management — specialisations in Cruise Line Management, Culinary Arts and Kitchen Operations, Hotel Industry Analytics, Hotel and Resorts Operation
- BS Tourism Management — specialisations in Travel and Tours Management, Airline Operations and Management, Tourism Foreign Relations and Diplomacy, Tourism Digital Content Creation and Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality Sustainability Leadership
This institute carries the deepest specialisation list at FEU, and the tourism specialisations in particular go well beyond what most schools offer under the same degree title.
Institute of Law
- Juris Doctor
Entered after a bachelor's degree, not from senior high school, and outside the FEUCAT process entirely.
FEU Makati and FEU Cavite
FEU Makati, at Gil Puyat Avenue corner Zuellig Loop, offers BS Accountancy, BS Business Administration with the same three specialisations, and BS Internal Auditing.
Extension Programs in FEU Cavite cover BA Political Science, BA Communication, BS Medical Technology, Master of Science in Psychology, Master in Business Administration and the Teacher Certificate Program.
One thing to be clear about: FEU Institute of Technology and FEU Dr Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation are separate institutions in the FEU group. They have their own admissions and their own programme lists, and an FEU Manila application does not cover them.
Graduate programmes
FEU's institutes carry graduate offerings alongside the bachelor's degrees. The Institute of Accounts, Business, and Finance runs the Master in Business Administration. The Institute of Arts and Sciences offers MA Communication, MA Language and Literature, MA Psychology, MS Biology, MS Mathematics and a PhD in Psychology. The Institute of Education has the widest range, including the Master in Learning and Teaching, Master in School Guidance and Counseling, MA Education tracks, a Doctor of Education professional track, a PhD in Education academic track and a PhD in Educational Linguistics. The Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing offers MA Nursing, and the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management offers MS Tourism and Hospitality Management with specialisations including Culinology and Sustainable Leisure Management and Governance.
Getting in
FEU sets out its freshman requirements plainly. You need satisfactory completion of senior high school or its equivalent — the Philippine Educational Placement Test or a Department of Education non-formal equivalency test both count — and you need to pass the FEU College Admissions Test (FEU-CAT).
The published process runs like this:
- Register through FEU's online application link and activate the account from the email you receive.
- Log in, update the temporary password, then complete and submit the application form.
- Pay the PHP 500.00 FEUCAT fee and upload proof of payment under Application Fee.
- Book your FEUCAT schedule through the Exam Booking page.
- Log in two weeks after your FEUCAT schedule to get your application results.
Documents for local students: Grade 12 report card, certificate of good moral character, photocopy of the PSA birth certificate, and certificate of graduation or a copy of the diploma. PEPT and ALS Accreditation and Equivalency passers submit a certificate of passing, certificate of rating, and for ALS A&E passers a photocopy of the diploma. Graduates of 2015 and earlier submit the original Form 138.
The application fee can be waived for applicants from public schools who placed in the top 10 of their Grade 11 batch, on submission of a certification signed by their school principal.
International applicants go through INTELAC: a referral form from the Admissions and Financial Assistance office, then an English assessment interview at the Language Learning Center, unless they present an original TOEFL or IELTS certificate. All credentials must be in English or accompanied by an English translation. FEU also runs regional testing centres for applicants outside Metro Manila.
Our FEU entrance exam guide covers preparation for the FEUCAT.
Second degree, transferees and returning students
FEU publishes separate procedures for applicants who are not coming straight from senior high school, and one rule in particular is worth knowing before you plan a switch.
Second degree applicants — students who already hold a bachelor's degree and want another one — are considered for admission with a general weighted average of 2.25, 82, 2.0 or C or better on the official transcript. Below that, admission is under probation. The hard limit is this: FEU does not admit second-degree applicants into BS Nursing or BS Accountancy. If either of those is your plan, FEU is not the route.
Documents for non-FEU graduates applying for a second degree include the original transcript with the general weighted average, a photocopy of the diploma, the original transfer credential or honorable dismissal, a PSA birth certificate, a letter of intent explaining why you are pursuing a second degree, and two sealed recommendation letters from current or former employers or professors. FEU graduates submit a shorter set. Institute deans may credit relevant general education and elective courses through an Academic Program Credit Evaluation, and may also require additional courses. Female second-degree applicants who graduated before 2002 are required to take NSTP.
Returning students go through readmission, which requires evaluation by the programme head of the department concerned. FEU also publishes a cross-enrollee route and a supplemental courses route.
Our second course guide covers the wider picture on taking another degree.
What FEU does not publish
- Slot counts or quotas per programme.
- A FEUCAT passing score or cut-off. The published process tells you when results are released, not what threshold you need.
- A per-programme tuition table on the public admissions pages. FEU publishes a payment guide and a tuition and other fees page rather than a schedule you can read off before applying.
What it costs
FEU publishes a tuition and fees payment guide and a set of scholarship pages rather than a single per-programme price list. Named scholarships on its site include the Entrance Scholarship, the Long-Term Educational Assistance Program, the Nicanor Reyes Science Scholarship Program, the Teacher Scholarship Program, and a set of corporate and foundation grants. Our FEU tuition fee guide works through what students actually pay, and covers the FEU Dr Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation separately.
