Courses Offered at Cavite State University

TL;DR: Cavite State University runs a wide programme list at its Indang main campus — 11 colleges covering agriculture, engineering, veterinary medicine, nursing, education, business, criminal justice and sports science — and a much narrower list at each of its eleven branch campuses. The branches are dominated by Education, Business, Information Technology, Hospitality Management and Psychology. Engineering exists at Indang and, in a limited form, at Rosario. Everything else engineering-shaped means travelling to Indang.

Everything below comes from CvSU's own course offerings page and its individual campus pages. Nothing is assembled from a directory.

For address, contacts and reviews of one of the Metro-adjacent branches, see the CvSU Imus campus profile on SchoolFinderPH. This post is the programme list.

The main campus list, by college

The Indang main campus carries the full academic structure. Here it is as CvSU publishes it.

College of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Natural Resources

  • Bachelor of Agricultural Entrepreneurship
  • BS Agriculture
  • BS Environmental Science
  • BS Food Technology

CvSU began as an agricultural school, and this college is still the reason the main campus sits in Indang rather than in a city. Bachelor of Agricultural Entrepreneurship is a distinct degree from BS Agriculture — it is the business-of-farming route, not the agronomy one.

College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

One programme, and it is the rarest thing CvSU offers. The DVM is available at only a handful of Philippine universities. If you want to be a veterinarian, this single line is a legitimate reason to plan your whole application around Indang.

College of Engineering and Information Technology

  • BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (formerly BS Agricultural Engineering)
  • BS Architecture
  • BS Civil Engineering
  • BS Computer Engineering
  • BS Computer Science
  • BS Electrical Engineering
  • BS Electronics Engineering (formerly BS Electronics and Communications Engineering)
  • BS Industrial Engineering
  • BS Industrial Technology, with majors in Automotive Technology, Electrical Technology and Electronics Technology
  • BS Information Technology

Note Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, which is a licensed profession with its own PRC board examination and which very few universities carry. Note also that Architecture and the computing degrees sit inside the engineering college rather than in colleges of their own. If you are weighing Computer Science against Information Technology, they are different degrees with different outcomes, as our BS Computer Science guide sets out.

College of Nursing

  • BS Nursing
  • BS Medical Technology
  • BS Midwifery
  • Diploma in Midwifery

Four programmes under one college, and all four lead to PRC-regulated practice. The Diploma in Midwifery is shorter than the BS, and the two lead to different scopes of practice — do not treat them as interchangeable. Our midwifery board exam guide covers what the licensure examination expects.

College of Arts and Sciences

  • BA English Language Studies (formerly BA English)
  • BA Journalism (formerly BA Mass Communication)
  • BA Political Science
  • BS Applied Mathematics
  • BS Biology
  • BS Psychology
  • BS Social Work

CvSU flags two renamings here. If you are looking for "BA Mass Communication" or "BA English" at CvSU, those are now BA Journalism and BA English Language Studies. Old listings elsewhere on the internet still use the retired names.

College of Economics, Management, and Development Studies

  • BS Accountancy
  • BS Business Management
  • BS Development Management
  • BS Economics
  • BS International Studies
  • BS Office Administration

BS Development Management and BS International Studies are the unusual entries. Neither is a standard BSBA major; both are separate degrees aimed at development work, government and international organisations.

College of Education

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
  • Bachelor of Elementary Education
  • Bachelor of Secondary Education
  • Bachelor of Special Needs Education
  • Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education
  • BS Hospitality Management (formerly BS Hotel and Restaurant Management)
  • BS Tourism Management
  • Teacher Certificate Program

Hospitality and Tourism Management sit under the College of Education on the published list, which is a structural quirk worth knowing when you are chasing down a dean or a department. The Teacher Certificate Program is the route for graduates of other degrees who want to teach without taking a second bachelor's.

The college also runs the campus Science High School, Elementary Education and Pre-Elementary Education units.

College of Criminal Justice

  • BS Criminology
  • BS Industrial Security Management

Industrial Security Management is a genuinely uncommon degree. It sits alongside Criminology but points at corporate and industrial security work rather than at the Criminologist Licensure Examination.

College of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation

  • Bachelor of Physical Education
  • Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Sciences (formerly Bachelor in Sports and Recreational Management)

Graduate School and Open Learning College

PhD routes in Agriculture, Education and Management. Master's routes include a Master in Business Administration, Master of Agriculture, Master of Arts in Education, Master of Engineering, Master of Management, Master of Professional Studies, MS Agriculture, MS Biology, MS Food Science and a Master in Information Technology.

One thing CvSU's own site does not resolve

A College of Medicine appears in the university's site navigation, with an officials page attached to it. No medical degree appears on CvSU's published Course Offerings page. That is a genuine inconsistency in the university's own materials, and this guide is not going to resolve it by guessing. If a CvSU medical degree matters to your plan, ask the university directly before you build anything around it.

The branch campuses, one by one

This is the part that decides whether CvSU is realistic for you. Each campus below is as the university publishes it.

Reading that table

Four patterns are worth naming.

  1. Information Technology and Hospitality Management are almost universal. Nearly every branch carries both. If those are your target, you can pick a campus by commute rather than by programme.
  2. Naic is the coastal specialist. BS Fisheries and the Basic Seaman Training Course appear there and nowhere else on this list.
  3. Rosario is the technical branch. It is the only branch publishing engineering degrees, and it carries the technical-vocational teacher education and industrial technology routes as well.
  4. Criminology is scarce outside Indang. Bacoor is the only branch on this list publishing it.

If none of your local branches carries what you want, the realistic answer is Indang or another university. Do not assume a branch will "add" your programme — check with the campus registrar.

Strand requirements

At least one campus publishes the senior high school strand it expects, which is unusually transparent. The Trece Martires City campus lists ABM, STEM or GAS for its business degree; STEM or TVL-ICT for Information Technology; GAS, HUMSS or STEM for Psychology; and any strand for Hospitality Management.

Take that as a signal rather than a universal rule — requirements are set per programme and per campus — but it is the clearest published example of why your strand choice narrows your degree options later. Our guide to SHS tracks and strands explains how that plays out.

Admission and cost

CvSU runs its college admission through an online application system, with the main campus applying at its own admission portal and branch campuses running their own intakes. Application windows and any admission testing schedule change every cycle, and CvSU announces them through its official site and campus channels — take dates from there, not from reposts.

On cost, CvSU is a state university and therefore falls under Republic Act 10931, the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, which provides free tuition and other school fees at state universities and colleges for students who meet the law's conditions. It is not a total waiver of everything a student pays. Our free tuition colleges in Cavite guide covers the local landscape, and the free tuition universities guide explains the law's coverage and how eligibility is lost.

Programme offerings and campus availability change between academic years, and some CvSU campus pages carry an older edit date. Confirm with the registrar of the specific campus before you commit to anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many campuses does Cavite State University have?

CvSU's own navigation lists eleven branch campuses alongside the Indang main campus: Bacoor City, Carmona, Cavite City, General Trias, Imus, Maragondon, Naic, Rosario, Silang, Tanza and Trece Martires City. The main campus in Indang carries by far the widest programme list; the branches each carry a subset.

Which CvSU campus offers engineering?

The Indang main campus, through the College of Engineering and Information Technology, which publishes Agricultural and Biosystems, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics and Industrial Engineering plus Architecture. Among the branch campuses, only Rosario publishes engineering degrees, and only two of them: Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

Does CvSU offer veterinary medicine?

Yes. The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the Indang main campus publishes the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Very few Philippine universities offer the DVM at all, so if that is your target the main campus is the reason to look at CvSU.

Does Cavite State University have a medical school?

A College of Medicine appears in the university's own site navigation with an officials page, but no medical degree appears on CvSU's published Course Offerings page. Treat the programme as unconfirmed and ask the university directly rather than assuming an MD is currently open for application.

What courses does CvSU Bacoor offer?

The Bacoor City campus publishes Computer Science, Information Technology, Psychology, Criminology, Hospitality Management, BSBA major in Marketing Management, BSBA major in Human Resource Management, and Bachelor of Secondary Education with English and Math majors. It is one of the few branches carrying Criminology.

Is tuition free at Cavite State University?

CvSU is a state university, which brings it under Republic Act 10931, the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, providing free tuition and other school fees in state universities and colleges for students meeting the law's conditions. The law has exclusions, so read the coverage rules rather than assuming every cost disappears.

What senior high school strand do I need for CvSU?

It depends on the programme, and at least one campus publishes the requirement explicitly. The Trece Martires City campus lists ABM, STEM or GAS for its business degree, STEM or TVL-ICT for Information Technology, GAS, HUMSS or STEM for Psychology, and any strand for Hospitality Management. Check the specific campus, since strand requirements are set per programme.

Does CvSU offer nursing and midwifery?

Yes, at the Indang main campus. The College of Nursing publishes BS Nursing, BS Midwifery, BS Medical Technology and a Diploma in Midwifery. The diploma is a shorter route than the degree and leads to a different practice scope, so be clear about which one you are applying for.
