Makati is the financial centre of the Philippines, and its school landscape reflects that: a compact set of long-established Catholic institutions, one IB World School, a technical school run by the Salesians, and a cluster of senior high and college campuses attached to universities.

The field is also smaller than the internet suggests. A lot of "best private schools in Makati" lists pad themselves with schools in Muntinlupa, San Juan, Manila and even Batangas. This guide sticks to schools with a Makati address, and separates the genuinely nearby options from ones that just get filed under Makati by habit.

One thing to set expectations on before you read further: Makati private schools do not publish tuition. We checked the official sites of every school below. Not one lists a full fee schedule publicly. Any specific peso range you see quoted for these schools on a listing site is almost certainly unsourced, so treat the accreditation, programme and grade-level detail here as the comparable information and get pricing directly from each admissions office.

Private schools inside Makati City

1. The Beacon School

Location: Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Makati Type: Non-sectarian, co-ed, Pre-K to middle years Tuition: Not published online

The Beacon School is Makati's International Baccalaureate World School, authorised in January 2005. It runs the IB Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme, with a personalised, inquiry-led approach and a large international student body. It is not authorised for the IB Diploma Programme, so families planning an IB pathway through Grade 12 generally move to a DP school. The Beacon Academy in Binan, Laguna, a separate institution, runs the MYP for Grades 7-10 and the DP for Grades 11-12.

2. Assumption College San Lorenzo

Assumption College San Lorenzo is a Catholic institution exclusively for girls. The San Lorenzo Village campus took its first preparatory and elementary students in June 1958, with college programmes following in 1959, succeeding the order's Herran campus in Ermita, Manila, which ran from 1904 to 1973. The Religious of the Assumption have been teaching in the Philippines since 1892. Assumption spans pre-school through the graduate level on one campus, which is unusual in Makati and useful if you want a single institution for the long run.

3. Colegio San Agustin Makati (CSA)

Colegio San Agustin Makati is run by the Augustinians and is one of Metro Manila's larger co-educational Catholic schools, with the school reporting more than 3,500 students drawn from over 40 nationalities. Its junior high school programme holds PAASCU Level III accreditation, the highest tier awarded in Philippine basic education. Fees are handled through the admissions portal rather than published.

4. Colegio de Santa Rosa - Makati

Colegio de Santa Rosa - Makati is part of the San Sebastian College-Recoletos Network and a member of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines. It lists PAASCU Level III accreditation and is a PEAC ESC-certified school, which matters practically: it means the Education Service Contracting subsidy can be applied to junior high tuition for qualifying students. Fee enquiries go through the admissions office.

5. Don Bosco Technical Institute - Makati

Location: Chino Roces Avenue, Makati Type: Catholic (Salesians of Don Bosco), co-ed, elementary to Senior High School plus TVET Tuition: Released on request through the school's fee-schedule form

Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati has been run by the Salesians of Don Bosco in Makati for more than four decades and is PAASCU accredited. It is the strongest option in the city for a technical-vocational bent: alongside its elementary, junior high and senior high programmes it runs TVET training aimed at out-of-school youth. Of all the schools on this list it is the most forthcoming about fees, publishing a current schedule of fees through a request form on its site rather than making you phone in.

6. Makati Hope Christian School

Location: 2312 Don Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Magallanes, Makati Type: Christian, co-ed, Nursery to Grade 12 Tuition: Not published online

Makati Hope Christian School has operated for more than 40 years and teaches the DepEd-prescribed curriculum alongside a Chinese curriculum from Nursery through Grade 12. Senior High is offered in the STEM, ABM and HUMSS strands. It is accredited at Level III by ACSCU-ACI, a different accrediting body from PAASCU, and it also runs a homeschool track for nursery through kindergarten and a second campus in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong.

Note the name carefully. Hope Christian High School, which some Makati lists include, is a separate school at 1242 Benavidez Street, Sta. Cruz, Manila.

7. Reach International School

Location: Sacred Heart Street, San Antonio Village, Makati Type: Non-sectarian, co-ed, preschool to Level 12 Tuition: Not published online

Reach International School opened in 2006 and blends several curricula: the School of Tomorrow system, a DepEd-aligned general education programme, a Singaporean curriculum, Common Core standards, and a special education programme. That mix makes it worth a look for families who want an individualised or non-standard pathway, particularly where a child needs SPED support inside a mainstream school.

8. St. Paul College of Makati

Several other Makati addresses serve senior high and college rather than K-12: iACADEMY for design, computing and music; Asia Pacific College for IT and engineering; FEU Makati; and Centro Escolar University's Makati campus. Schools commonly miscounted as Makati

These come up constantly in Makati lists and none of them has a Makati address:

PAREF Woodrose and PAREF Southridge are in Muntinlupa, on Alabang-Zapote Road.
San Beda College Alabang is in Muntinlupa.
Immaculate Conception Academy is in Greenhills, San Juan.
Stonyhurst Southville International School is in Batangas, with campuses in Batangas City and Lipa.
Hope Christian High School is in Sta. Cruz, Manila. Makati Hope Christian School is the Makati one.

That does not make them bad schools. It means that if your reason for choosing Makati is the commute, several of these will not solve it.

What you can actually budget around

Because Makati schools do not post fees, the reliable numbers in your budget are the government subsidies, not the tuition.

DepEd Order No. 011, s. 2026, the revised E-GASTPE guidelines effective SY 2026-2027, sets both. Section 48 and Table 13 put the Senior High School Voucher Programme at up to PHP 22,500 a year in the National Capital Region for Categories A, B and C, and PHP 18,000 for Categories D and E, with lower caps outside NCR. Section 21 and Table 5 put the Education Service Contracting grant for Grades 7-10 at PHP 13,000 a year in NCR, PHP 11,000 in highly urbanised cities outside NCR and PHP 9,000 elsewhere. In both programmes the school is paid the lower of its total fees or the cap.

Section 83 of the same order repealed DO 20, s. 2023 and DO 20, s. 2017 in their entirety, so a school page still quoting either one is citing a repealed issuance. DepEd has said it is targeting more than 2.4 million private-school subsidy beneficiaries nationwide. Participation still changes annually, so confirm your target school is an active participating school with DepEd or PEAC before you budget around a subsidy.

How to choose a Makati private school

Decide whether you need a full K-12 pathway. Assumption, CSA, Colegio de Santa Rosa, Don Bosco, Makati Hope, Reach and St. Paul cover basic education. Mapua, iACADEMY, APC, FEU Makati and CEU Makati start at senior high.
Weigh accreditation properly. PAASCU Level III (Colegio de Santa Rosa, CSA's junior high) reflects the furthest a school has gone through voluntary review. Plenty of good schools simply have not pursued it, and ACSCU-ACI accreditation, as at Makati Hope, is a legitimate parallel track.
Ask about ESC and voucher participation first, price second. A PEAC ESC-certified school can be materially cheaper for Grades 7-10 than a slightly lower-priced school that is not.
Match the religious character. Catholic congregations differ in emphasis: Augustinian at CSA, Recollect network at Colegio de Santa Rosa, Salesian at Don Bosco, Paulinian at St. Paul, Assumption at San Lorenzo. Makati Hope is Christian and Chinese-Filipino; Beacon and Reach are non-sectarian.
Test the commute at the actual hour. Makati traffic is the deciding factor for a lot of families. Chino Roces Avenue schools (Beacon, Don Bosco, Makati Hope) are reached differently from the village schools (Assumption, CSA) and from Poblacion and Guadalupe Viejo.
